أخبرنا الشيخ أبو بكر، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتَيبة، حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شَيْبة ومحمد بن عبد الله بن نُمَير: قالا: مات أبو محمد الأشعثُ بن قيس الكِنْديُّ من بني الحارث بن معاويةَ بالكوفة والحسنُ بنُ علي بها بعد صُلْح معاويةَ إياه، فصلَّى عليه الحسنُ بن عليٍّ ﵄.
Abu Muhammad al-Ash'ath bin Qays al-Kindi, who belonged to Banu al-Harith bin Mu'awiyah, died in Kufah. At the time of his death, Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) was present there, after his peace settlement with Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), and so Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) led his funeral prayer.
