Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6337

Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) states that the lineage of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zayd bin Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) goes back to Mazin bin al-Najjar. His mother was Umm Umarah Nusaybah bint Ka'b. He took part in the Battle of Uhud, the Battle of the Trench and all the campaigns alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He was the paternal uncle of Abbad bin Tamim. Abdullah bin Zayd was among those who killed Musaylimah the Liar on the day of the Battle of al-Yamamah. He was martyred on the day of al-Harrah, in the last days of Dhu al-Hijjah in the year 63 AH, during the rule of Yazid bin Mu'awiyah.
