Mus'ab bin Abdullah al-Zubayri narrates that the name of Abu Mahdhurah was Aws bin Mi'yar bin Wahb bin Du'mus bin Sa'd bin Jumah, and his mother was from the tribe of Khuza'ah. Ibrahim al-Harbi said that Mus'ab al-Zubayri stated it this way, while another view is that his name was Samurah bin Mi'yar.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
399. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The manuscripts here have "Sa'id", which is an error; the correct name, according to Mus'ab al-Zubayri's "Nasab Quraysh", is (Sa'd).
Note / Clarification: Ibn Hazm says in "Jamharat Ansab al-'Arab" that the assumption of the hadith scholars that Abu Mahdhurah's name was "Samurah" is not correct; Samurah was the name of Abu Mahdhurah's brother.
