It is narrated from Ya'qub bin Ibrahim bin Sa'd that Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, Umayr, Amir and Utbah are brothers, and the name of their father Abu Waqqas is Malik bin Uhayb bin Abd Manaf bin al-Harith bin Zuhrah.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the manuscripts there is a blank space here, and the word "yaqul" has dropped out of manuscript (B).
2/ 89. Identification of names: In manuscript (B) the name has become ''Uqbah', while it is ''Utbah'. 'Utbah died as a disbeliever, while his sons Nafi' and Hashim accepted Islam. Important point: 'Umayr bin Abi Waqqas was martyred at Badr (see hadith 4925), and his brother 'Amir is a Companion of the migration to Abyssinia who, according to the correct view, was martyred at Yarmuk (Tarikh al-Islam by al-Dhahabi 2/ 89).
128 - 129. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The addition of 'al-Harith' here between 'Abd Manaf and Zuhrah is wrong; the correct position is that 'Abd Manaf and al-Harith are both brothers, and both of them are sons of Zuhrah (Jamharat Ansab al-'Arab by Ibn Hazm p. 128).
