Mention of the merits of Sayyiduna Maslamah bin Mukhallad al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). It is narrated from Mus'ab bin Abdullah al-Zubayri that the kunyah of Maslamah bin Mukhallad bin al-Samit bin Niyar al-Khazraji was Abu Ma'n. According to one view he died in Egypt, and according to another in Madinah in 60 AH. He took part in the Battle of Uhud and in all the other battles. Concerning him Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) says (in pride): "Know that this is my maternal uncle, of whom I am proud; so (if anyone has the courage) let every man show me his maternal uncle (who is like him)."
