Book of Knowing the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them)
لَمْ يُسْلِمْ أَرْبَعَةٌ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ الْآبَاءُ مَعَ الْأَبْنَاءِ غَيْرَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ
No four of the Companions, fathers together with sons, embraced Islam except the family of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him)

أخبرني إسماعيل بن محمد بن الفضل الشَّعراني، حَدَّثَنَا جَدِّي، حَدَّثَنَا نُعَيم بن حمّاد، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن ثَوْر، عن مَعمَر، عن الزُهْري، عن سعيد بن المسيّب قال: ما تُعُلِّقَ على عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكر بكِذْبةٍ في الإسلام (3).
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyab that he said: After he embraced Islam, no trace was ever found of any lie on the part of Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him).

(3) خبر صحيح. معمر: هو ابن راشد، والزهري: هو محمد بن مسلم بن شِهاب.
Grading: This report is "sahih".
Important point: Ma'mar is Ibn Rashid, and al-Zuhri is Muhammad bin Muslim bin Shihab.
وأخرجه عبد الرزاق (9775)، ومن طريقه ابن أبي عاصم في "الآحاد والمثاني" (99)، وابن حزم في "المحلى" 11/ 357، وابن عساكر 35/ 34 - 35 و 38/ 62 عن معمر، بهذا الإسناد، ضمن حكاية مطولة في أبي لؤلؤة قاتل عمر بن الخطاب.
Reference / Source: Abd al-Razzaq, Ibn Abi Asim, Ibn Hazm and Ibn Asakir narrated it via Ma'mar, within a lengthy story (about Abu Lu'lu'ah, the killer of Umar).
وسيأتي من وجه آخر عن معمر برقم (6127).
