It is narrated from Ibrahim bin Kathir: I heard Umarah bin Ghaziyyah say that Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Azdi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). Then he mentioned the same long hadith that has already passed on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him).
This hadith is mursal, because there is a long gap in time between Umarah bin Ghaziyyah and Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub and Mu'awiyah, whereas the hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) is connected (muttasil) and fully traced (musnad).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is weak because it is "mu'dal" (two or more consecutive narrators dropped) between 'Umarah and Abu Ayyub and Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with them), as the author (al-Hakim) himself will indicate. Reference / Source: Al-Harith bin Abi Usamah narrated it in his "Musnad" (1025 - Bughyat al-Bahith) via Mu'awiyah bin 'Amr al-Fazari with this same chain. Reference / Source: Ibn 'Asakir narrated it in "Tarikh Dimashq" (16/ 56) through the route of al-Musayyab bin Wadih from Abu Ishaq al-Fazari. (6048). Note / Clarification: In this regard, see the hadith that preceded at number (6048).
