أخبرني الحسن بن محمد بن إسحاق الأزهري، حدثنا محمد بن زكريا الغَلَابي، حدثنا العباس بن بَكَّار، حدثنا سُهيل بن أبي سُهيل التَّمِيمي، عن أبيه، قال: مَرَّ عليُّ بن أبي طالب بطلحةَ بن عُبيد الله وهو مَقتُول، فوقف عليه وقال: هذا واللهِ كما قال الشاعرُ: فتًى كان يُدنِيهِ الغِنى مِن صَديقِهِ … إذا ما هو استَغْنى ويُبعِدُه الفقرُ كأنَّ الثُريَّا عُلِّقَت في جَبينِهِ … وفي خَدِّه الشِّعْرى، وفي الآخَرِ البَدْرُ (1)
Suhayl bin Abi Suhayl al-Tamimi narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by the blessed body of Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) after he had been martyred. He stood beside him and said: "By Allah! He was just as the poet said: He was a young man whom wealth drew closer to his friends when he was rich, and whom poverty kept away from them (so as not to be a burden on them); it is as though the Pleiades were set upon his forehead, with the star Sirius on one of his cheeks and the full moon (shining) on the other."

(1) إسناده تالفٌ بمرّة من أجل محمد بن زكريا الغَلَابي وشيخه العباس بن بكار، فهما متروكان واتُّهما بالوضع، ولا يُدرى من هو سُهيل ولا أبوه.
Grading: (1) Its chain is utterly ruined (talif) on account of Muhammad bin Zakariyya al-Ghalabi and his shaykh al-'Abbas bin Bakkar; both are matruk (abandoned) and were accused of fabrication (wad').
Technical note / Defect ('illah): And it is not known who Suhayl and his father are.
وأخرج نحوه الطبري في "تهذيب الآثار" في قسم مسند عمر 2/ 669 عن محمد بن حميد الرازي، عن يحيى بن واضح، عن مُطهَّر، عن رجل من أهل مصر، قال: مرَّ عليٌّ … ومُطهَّر هذا لا يُدرَى مَن هو، وشيخُه مبهم، ومحمد بن حميد الرازي ضعيف بمرَّة.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabari narrated something similar in "Tahdhib al-Athar" (the Musnad 'Umar section 2/ 669) from Muhammad bin Humayd al-Razi, he from Yahya bin Wadih, he from Mutahhar, he from a man of the people of Egypt, who said: 'Ali passed by ...
Technical note / Defect ('illah): It is not known who this "Mutahhar" is, his shaykh is unnamed (mubham), and Muhammad bin Humayd al-Razi is utterly weak.
