حدَّثَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق الإمام، أخبرنا بِشْر بن موسى، حدثنا خالد بن يزيد القَرْني (3)، حدثنا جعفر بن سُليمان، عن عبد الله بن محمد الرَّقَاشي، عن جدّه عبد الملك بن مُسلم (4)، عن أبي جَرْوة المازِني، قال: سمعت عليًّا وهو يُناشِد الزُّبيرَ قال: أَنشُدُك الله يا زبيرُ، أما سمعتَ رسولَ الله ﷺ يقول: إنك تُقاتِلُني وأنت لي ظالمٌ؟ قال: بلى، ولكني نَسيتُ (1).
It is narrated from Abu Jarwah al-Mazini that he said: I heard Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) as he was adjuring Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) by Allah. He said: "O Zubayr! I ask you by Allah, did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: 'You will fight me while you are the one wronging me'?" He replied: "Yes indeed, but I had forgotten."

(3) القَرْني بالقاف والراء الساكنة نسبة إلى قرية بين قُطْرُبُل والمَزْرَفة غربي بغداد. انظر "تاريخ بغداد" للخطيب 9/ 243 وقال في اسم هذا الرجل: خالد بن أبي يزيد. وقيل: خالد بن يزيد، والصواب: ابن أبي يزيد، واسمه بَهْبُذان.
Note / Clarification: (3) "Al-Qarni" (with qaf and a silent ra') is a nisbah to a village between Qutrubbul and al-Mazrafah, west of Baghdad. See al-Khatib's "Tarikh Baghdad" 9/ 243. He said about this man's name: he is "Khalid bin Abi Yazid". Some said "Khalid bin Yazid", but the correct form is "Ibn Abi Yazid", and his (father's) name is "Bahbudhan".
(4) تحرَّف في نسخنا الخطية إلى: مسلمة.
Note / Clarification: (4) In our manuscripts this is corrupted into "Maslamah".
(1) قوي لغيره، وهذا إسناد ضعيف كسابقه.
Grading: (1) This narration is "qawi" (strong) through other supporting reports (qawi li-ghayrihi), but this particular chain is "da'if" (weak), like the previous one.
وأخرجه العقيلي في "الضعفاء" (964) عن بشر بن موسى، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-'Uqayli narrated it in "al-Du'afa'" (964) from Bishr bin Musa, with this chain.
وأخرجه العقيلي أيضًا (843) عن محمد بن إسماعيل بن سالم الصائغ، عن خالد بن أبي يزيد القَرْني، به.
Reference / Source: Al-'Uqayli also narrated it (843) from Muhammad bin Isma'il bin Salim al-Sa'igh, from Khalid bin Abi Yazid al-Qarni, in the same way.
