Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5636

Amir bin Abdullah bin al-Zubayr narrates from his father, who narrates from Amir bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: The Battle of Badr took place (in the second year of the Hijrah) on the morning of the 16th of Ramadan.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated two hadiths from Amir bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him), one of which the two Shaykhs agreed upon: "When you see a funeral, stand up for it."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (1) Our manuscripts have "sitt 'ashar" (with "'ashar" in the masculine form), while the correct usage is what we have established from the Mahmudiyyah manuscript, as in the al-Mayman edition.

Grading: (2) Its chain is sahih, but with the wording "seventeen (17)".
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Likewise, Ibn Sa'd narrated it in "Tabaqat" 2/ 19, Abu Zur'ah al-Dimashqi in his "Tarikh" p. 163 - 164 (and through him al-Bayhaqi in "al-Dala'il" 3/ 128), and Muhammad bin Isma'il al-Sa'igh in Ibn al-Mundhir's "Tafsir" (876). All three (Ibn Sa'd, Abu Zur'ah and al-Sa'igh) narrate it from Sa'id bin Sulayman (who is al-Wasiti) with this same chain.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Likewise, Ibn Sa'd 2/ 19, Ibn Abi Shaybah 14/ 353 and Ibn Abi Khaythamah in the third part of his "Tarikh" (1438) narrated it from 'Affan bin Muslim, and al-Wahidi in his "Tafsir" 1/ 487 and Ibn 'Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" 25/ 324 via Wahb bin Baqiyyah al-Wasiti. Both of them ('Affan and Wahb) narrate it likewise from Khalid bin Abd Allah (who is Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Wasiti al-Tahhan).
