Khalifah bin Khayyat mentioned the same lineage as above and added to it that the mother of Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) was Suqaylah (while according to others her name was Suhaylah) bint al-Aswad bin Haram bin Amr bin Zayd Manat bin Adi bin Amr bin Malik bin al-Najjar, and she was the paternal aunt of Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Note / Clarification: (3) In our manuscripts it came as "Suqaylah" (with a qaf). Most likely it is so in al-Hakim's narration from Ahmad bin Ya'qub al-Thaqafi as well, as the statement after it indicates, as if al-Hakim wanted to point out that others besides Ahmad bin Ya'qub, when narrating it from Musa bin Zakariyya, say "Suhaylah" (with a ha'). And this is correct, for al-Daraqutni narrated this in "al-Mu'talif wa al-Mukhtalif" (1/ 531) from Abu al-Tahir Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Nasr, from Musa bin Zakariyya, from Shabab (which is the nickname of Khalifah; in the printed edition it was corrupted into "Shababah"), and said "Suhaylah". Likewise it came as "Suhaylah" in the narration of Abu Hafs Umar bin Ahmad bin Ishaq al-Ahwazi, one of the narrators of Khalifah's "al-Tabaqat" from him, with Ibn Asakir (7/ 312). It is likewise in the edited printed edition of Khalifah's "al-Tabaqat" (p. 88), which relied on a manuscript in the narration of al-Tabarani from Musa bin Zakariyya from Khalifah, and also in the narration of al-Ahwazi from Khalifah, as Dr. Akram al-Umari pointed out.
Note / Clarification: (1) In our manuscripts it was corrupted into "Suhaybah" (with a ba' instead of the lam).
