It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) is our master, and he freed our master (Bilal)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it!

Note / Clarification: (3) In our manuscripts this name was corrupted to "Ahmad"; we have corrected it with the help of this narrator's other narrations in the author's (al-Hakim's) collection.
Grading: (4) Its chain is sahih. Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (3754) recorded it from Abu Nu'aym, from 'Abd al-'Aziz bin Abi Salamah al-Majishun, with this chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): So al-Hakim's including it as a supplement (istidrak) (i.e. saying that it is not in the Two Sahihs) is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part.
