It is narrated from Makhul that the one who saw Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) told him that he was of a deep dark complexion, slim, tall and slightly stooped forward; his hair was thick, the hair on his cheeks was light, much of his hair had turned white with age, and he did not dye it. Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) took part in the battles of Badr, Uhud, al-Khandaq and all the battles alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood between him and Ubaydah bin al-Harith bin Abd al-Muttalib.
