Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5305

(1) صحيح لغيره، بل متواتر، وهذا إسناد محتمل للتحسين من أجل مسلم مولى خالد بن عُرفُطة، فهو - وإن لم يرو عنه غير خالد بن سَلَمة - تابعي ذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات"، وقد حسَّن حديثَه هذا عبد الغني المقدسي في "نهاية المراد من كلام خير العباد" (151). أبو البَخْتَري: هو عبد الله بن محمد بن شاكر العَنْبري. والمختار الذي قال فيه خالد بن عُرْفطة ما قال: هو المختار بن أبي عُبيد الثقفي، واشتهر كذِبُه.
Grading: (1) This hadith is "sahih li-ghayrihi", indeed "mutawatir". This chain can possibly be graded "hasan" because of "Muslim, the freed slave of Khalid bin 'Urfutah". Although no one other than Khalid bin Salamah narrated from him, he is a Successor (tabi'i) whom Ibn Hibban mentioned in "al-Thiqat". 'Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi declared this hadith of his "hasan" in "Nihayat al-Murad" (151).
Note / Clarification: "Abu al-Bakhtari" refers to 'Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin Shakir al-'Anbari. And the "al-Mukhtar" about whom Khalid bin 'Urfutah said what he said is "al-Mukhtar bin Abi 'Ubayd al-Thaqafi", whose lying became well known.
وأخرجه أحمد 37/ (22501) عن أبي بكر عبد الله بن محمد بن أبي شيبة، عن محمد بن بشر العَبْدي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (37/ 22501) recorded it from Abu Bakr 'Abd Allah bin Muhammad bin Abi Shaybah, from Muhammad bin Bishr al-'Abdi, with this chain.
وهذا المتن معروف متواتر، انظر شواهده في التعليق على الحديث (28) في "صحيح ابن حبان"، منها حديثُ زيد بن أرقم المتقدم عند المصنف برقم (260)، وحديث أبي قتادة المتقدم كذلك برقم (384)، وحديثُ علي بن أبي طالب الآتي برقم (8013).
Important point: This text is "well-known and mutawatir". See its supporting reports in the notes on hadith (28) in "Sahih Ibn Hibban". Among these supporting reports are the hadith of Zayd bin Arqam (number 260), the hadith of Abu Qatadah (number 384) and the hadith of 'Ali bin Abi Talib (number 8013) in the collection of the author (al-Hakim).
