حدثنا أبو زكريا العَنْبَري، حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم العَبْدي، حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل، حدثنا عامر بن صالح الزُّبَيري، عن هشام بن عُرْوة، عن أبيه، عن عائشة، عن الحارث بن هشام: أنه سألَ النبيَّ ﷺ: كيف يَنزِلُ عليكَ الوَحْيُ؟ فقال رسول الله ﷺ: في مثل "صَلْصَلَة الجَرَس، فيَفْصِمُ عني وقد وَعَيتُ ما قال، وهو أشدُّه عليَّ، وأحيانًا يأتيني المَلَكُ، فيتَمَثَلُ لي فيكلِّمُني فأَعِي ما يقول" (2). لا أعلم أحدًا قال في هذا الحديث: عن عائشة عن الحارث، غيرَ عامر بن صالح، وقد رواه أصحابُ هشامٍ عن أبيه عن عائشة: أنَّ الحارث بن هشام سأل … ذكرُ مناقب ثَعْلبة بن صُعَيرٍ العَدَويّ ﵁ -
Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from al-Harith bin Hisham (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "How does the revelation come down to you?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sometimes it comes like the ringing of a bell, then that state leaves me and I have retained what he said; and this is the hardest on me. And sometimes the angel comes to me in human form and speaks to me, and I retain what he says."

(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف جدًّا من أجل عامر بن صالح الزبيري، وخالفه غيره من الرواة فجعلوه من مسند عائشة، وهو المحفوظ. وهو في "مسند أحمد" 42/ (25253). وأخرجه أحمد 42/ (25252) و (25303 و 43 / (26198)، والبخاري (2) و (3215)، ومسلم (2333)، والترمذي (3634)، والنسائي (1008) و (11063)، وابن حبان (38) من طرق عن هشام بن عروة، عن أبيه، عن عائشة: أنَّ الحارث بن هشام سأل رسول الله ﷺ .. الحديث.
Grading: (2) This hadith is sahih, but this chain is "very weak" because of 'Amir bin Salih al-Zubayri.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Other narrators contradicted him and placed it in the musnad of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and this is the "preserved" (mahfuz) version.
Reference / Source: It is in "Musnad Ahmad" (42/ 25253). It was also recorded by Ahmad (42/ 25252, 25303 and 43/ 26198), al-Bukhari (2, 3215), Muslim (2333), al-Tirmidhi (3634), al-Nasa'i (1008, 11063) and Ibn Hibban (38) through several routes from Hisham bin 'Urwah, from his father, from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "that al-Harith bin Hisham asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)" (and the rest of the hadith).
قوله: "فيَفْصِم" قال القاضي عياض في "المشارق" 2/ 160: يروي بفتح الياء وبضمها على ما لم يُسمَّ فاعلُه، ومعناه: ينفصل عني ويُقلع.
Note / Clarification: "fa-yafsimu": Qadi 'Iyad said in "al-Mashariq" (2/ 160): It is narrated with fathah on the ya' and with dammah (as a passive form), and it means: it separates from me and ceases (i.e. the revelation breaks off).
