أخبرنا محمد بن علي الصَّنْعَاني بمكة، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن الزُّهري: أنَّ سعدَ بنَ عُبادة كان حامِلَ رايةِ الأنصارِ مع رسول الله ﷺ يومَ بدرٍ وغيرِه (1).

It is narrated from Imam al-Zuhri that Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) was the standard-bearer (flag-carrier) of the Ansar alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at the Battle of Badr and in other battles.

(1) وهو في "مصنف عبد الرزاق" (9638) و (9770)، لكنه في الموضع الأول قال: عن الزهري عن عُروة. وليس بمحفوظ، فقد أخرج أحمد هذا الأثر في "فضائل الصحابة" (1503) عن عبد الرزاق، عن معمر، عن الزهري لم يجاوزه.
Reference / Source: (1) This is in "Musannaf 'Abd al-Razzaq" (9638, 9770).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): But in the first place it says "from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah", which is "not mahfuz". For Ahmad narrated it in "Fada'il al-Sahabah" (1503) from 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, and did not take the chain beyond al-Zuhri (i.e. it is mursal).
