Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4998

أخبرني عبد الله بن محمد بن زياد، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن إسحاق الإمام، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن بَشَّار، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الوهاب، عن خالد الحَذَّاء، عن عِكرمة، عن أبي هريرة، قال: ما احتذَى النِّعالَ ولا انتَعَل، ولا رَكِبَ المَطايا ولا رَكِبَ الكُورَ بعدَ رسولِ الله ﷺ أفضلُ من جعفرِ بن أبي طالبٍ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط البخاري، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), among all the people who ever wore sandals or rode any mount or camel saddle, there was none better than Ja'far bin Abi Talib.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(2) إسناده صحيح، عبد الوهاب: هو ابن عبد المجيد الثقفي، وخالد الحذّاء: هو ابن مهران.
Grading: (2) Its chain is "sahih". 'Abd al-Wahhab is Ibn 'Abd al-Majid al-Thaqafi, and Khalid al-Hadhdha' is Ibn Mihran.
وقد تقدَّم برقم (4398) من طريق إبراهيم بن أبي طالب عن محمد بن بشار.
Details of the narration: It has passed under number (4398) through the route of Ibrahim bin Abi Talib > Muhammad bin Bashshar.
والكُور، بالضم: رَحْل الناقة بأداته، وهو كالسَّرج وآلته للفرس. قاله ابن الأثير في "النهاية".
Technical note / Language: "Al-kur" (with damma) is the she-camel's saddle together with its gear; it is like a horse's saddle. Ibn al-Athir said this in "al-Nihayah".
