Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4890

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Hasan was born to (Sayyidah) Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came and said: "Show me my son. What have you named him?" (The narrator then mentioned the full hadith.)
This was the last hadith my effort reached concerning the virtues of the Ahl al-Bayt of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) whose chains are sahih and which the two Shaykhs did not record. According to my effort, I have dictated those hadiths on the virtues of the four Caliphs and the Ahl al-Bayt whose chains are sahih. Now I have considered it better, for the arrangement of this book, to mention the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) according to the dates of their deaths, from the beginning of Islam to the last of them to die, and Allah alone, by His mercy, is the Helper in this. Among these Companions is Iyas bin Mu'adh al-Ashhali (may Allah be pleased with him), who died in Makkah before the Hijrah.

Hadith Grading
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This chain is "da'if jiddan" (very weak) because of 'Abd al-'Aziz bin Aban (Ibn Muhammad al-Umawi); he is "matruk", and some accused him. But this hadith has already passed at number (4829) by way of 'Ubaydullah bin Musa al-'Absi, from Isra'il (Ibn Yunus bin Abi Ishaq al-Sabi'i), and it is a "munkar" hadith, as has been explained.
