Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading of the chain: This chain is "talif" (ruined / very weak) because of Yahya bin al-'Ala'.
Criticism and praise of narrators: Yahya bin al-'Ala' is "matruk al-hadith" (abandoned in hadith); Imam Ahmad declared him a liar and a fabricator of hadith. Likewise (the narrator) al-Qasim bin Abi Shaybah is also "matruk", and al-Daraqutni called him a liar.
Details: Besides al-Qasim, another person narrated it from Yahya bin al-'Ala': 'Ubadah bin Ziyad al-Asadi (who is also called 'Abbad), who is "la ba'sa bihi" (acceptable), but he differed in the wording of the text. In any case, the real defect remains due to Yahya bin al-'Ala'. There is another chain from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) with wording like al-Qasim's, but it too contains a "matruk and accused" narrator.
Source / Reference: Al-Tabarani narrated it in "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" (2630) and Ibn al-Shajari in his "Amali" (1/ 152) via 'Ubadah bin Ziyad al-Asadi, from Yahya bin al-'Ala', with these words: "Indeed Allah placed the offspring of every prophet in his own loins, and indeed Allah placed my offspring in the loins of 'Ali bin Abi Talib."
Source / Reference: The author (al-Hakim) narrated it in "Fada'il Fatimah" (56), and via him Ibn 'Asakir (36/ 313), through Sulayman bin Ahmad bin Yahya, from Mahmud bin al-Rabi' al-'Amiri, from Hammad bin 'Isa (Ghariq al-Juhfah), from Tahirah bint 'Amr bin Dinar, from her father, from Jabir bin 'Abd Allah.
Criticism and praise of narrators: About Hammad bin 'Isa the author himself said: he is a "dajjal" (great liar) who narrates fabricated hadiths. We say that Sulayman bin Ahmad bin Yahya (in the chain) is also "accused", and his shaykh Mahmud bin al-Rabi' is "majhul" (unknown).
Overall verdict: This report is narrated from several Companions, but with chains such that none of them can be relied upon at all.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: In this chapter there is also a narration from 'Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), which Abu Bakr al-Qati'i transmitted in his additions to Ahmad bin Hanbal's "Fada'il al-Sahabah" (1070). From him Abu Nu'aym transmitted it in "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah" (215) through Muhammad bin Yunus al-Kudaymi, and al-Tabarani transmitted it in "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" (2631) through Muhammad bin Zakariyya al-Ghalabi. Both of them (al-Kudaymi and al-Ghalabi) narrate it from Bishr (or Bashir) bin Mihran, from Sharik al-Nakha'i, from Shabib bin Gharqadah, from al-Mustazill bin Husayn, from 'Umar bin al-Khattab.
Defect ('illah): This Bishr bin Mihran is "al-Khassaf", who is weak, and the two narrators who narrate from him (al-Kudaymi and al-Ghalabi) are "matruk" (abandoned).
Corroborating reports (Sayyidah Fatimah): Likewise a narration is reported from Sayyidah Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), found in Musnad Abi Ya'la (6741), al-'Uqayli's "al-Du'afa'" (1185), al-Tabarani's "al-Kabir" (2632) and (22/ 1042), the author's "Fada'il Fatimah" (218), al-Khatib's "Tarikh Baghdad" (13/ 163, 164), Ibn 'Asakir (70/ 14) and Ibn al-Jawzi's "al-'Ilal al-Mutanahiyah" (418), via Shaybah bin Na'amah, from Fatimah bint al-Husayn bin 'Ali, who narrates from her grandmother Fatimah al-Zahra'.
Criticism and praise of narrators: This Shaybah bin Na'amah is "da'if" (weak). Ibn Hibban said in "al-Majruhin" (1/ 362): It is not permissible to use him as proof.
Disconnection (inqita'): Moreover, Fatimah bint al-Husayn did not live in the time of her grandmother Fatimah al-Zahra' (i.e. the chain is munqati').
