It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hawalah al-Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is saved from three tribulations has (truly) been saved." The Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What are they?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My death, the killing of a caliph who remains steadfast upon the truth and gives people their rights, and the tribulation of the Dajjal."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) Its chain is hasan because of Rabi'ah bin Laqit al-Tujibi. Technical note / Defect ('illah): A group narrated from him, al-Ijli declared him thiqah, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat" and said: "The people of Egypt narrated from him." Reference / Source: Ahmad (37/ 22488) narrated it from Hajjaj bin Muhammad, from al-Layth bin Sa'd, with this same chain. Reference / Source: Ahmad (28/ 16973, 17003) narrated it via the route of Yahya bin Ayyub al-Ghafiqi, from Yazid bin Abi Habib, in the same way. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibrahim bin Yazid al-Misri (Abu Khuzaymah al-Ru'ayni, the judge) differed from al-Layth bin Sa'd and Yahya bin Ayyub in its chain. Ibrahim (whom Ibn Ma'in declared thiqah) narrated it from Yazid bin Abi Habib, from Marthad bin Abdullah al-Yazani, from Uqbah bin Amir. Reference / Source: As al-Ruyani narrated it in his "Musnad" (170) and al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (17/ 794) via the route of Jarir bin Hazim, from Ibrahim bin Yazid. Important point: But the version of al-Layth bin Sa'd and Yahya al-Ghafiqi is the correct one, as al-Khatib al-Baghdadi pointed out in "al-Muttafiq wa-l-Muftariq" (after report 63), after quoting it from the judge Abu Bakr al-Ji'abi and agreeing with him.
