Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4366

Abd al-A'la bin Abdullah narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) visited the graves of the martyrs of Uhud and said: "O Allah! Indeed Your servant and Your Prophet bears witness that these are all martyrs, and that whoever visits them and greets them with salam until the Day of Resurrection, they will return his greeting."

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (3) It is da'if because of its idtirab (inconsistency), as has been explained at no. (3014). Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" (3/ 307) from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim, with this chain.
ℹ Reference: Something similar has already appeared at no. (3014) by way of Sulayman bin Bilal, from 'Abd al-A'la, from Qatan bin Wahb, from 'Ubayd bin 'Umayr, from Abu Hurayrah. This is how Sulayman bin Bilal gave its chain, going against al-'Attaf (bin Khalid) in it. Hatim bin Isma'il agreed with Sulayman bin Bilal (as will come at no. 4966), except that he mentioned Abu Dharr instead of Abu Hurayrah!
