It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: By Allah! I was watching Hind bint Utbah and her female companions running away with their garments lifted (above their shins), and there was not the slightest delay in capturing them. Meanwhile, when we had pushed the enemy back, the archers turned towards the camp, wanting to gather the spoils, and they left our rear exposed to the (enemy) cavalry. So we were attacked from behind, and a caller cried out loudly: Beware! Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has been killed. At this we turned back and the enemy also turned, although before that we had overpowered their standard-bearers, so much so that none of the enemy would come near the standard.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Correction: (1) The word "khadam" (anklets) has dropped out of the original manuscripts of "al-Mustadrak", whereas it is present in al-Bayhaqi's narration in "al-Dala'il" from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim, and it is also established with all the narrators of this report from Muhammad bin Ishaq; therefore we have inserted it here.
Linguistic explanation: "al-Khadam": the plural of "khadamah", meaning the anklet.
Correction: (2) In the manuscripts the word is "حتى", whereas the text we have established agrees with all the others who narrated this report from Muhammad bin Ishaq, and it is more fitting and better.
Grading: (1) Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Ishaq (Muhammad bin Ishaq bin Yasar).

Documentation: It is in Ibn Ishaq's "al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah" in the recension of Ziyad bin 'Abd Allah al-Bakka'i from him (2/ 77-78), and in the recension of Muhammad bin Salamah al-Harrani from him (following the recension of Yunus bin Bukayr - no. 507).
