It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Khalid bint Khalid (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: I came back from the land of Abyssinia when I was a little girl. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) clothed me in a black woollen wrap (khamisah) that had markings on it. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began to pass his blessed hand over those markings, saying: "Sanah, sanah", meaning: "Beautiful, beautiful" (in the Abyssinian language).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Grading: (2) Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Sufyan (in the chain) is "Sufyan bin Uyaynah". Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (3847) narrated it from al-Humaydi with this same chain. Note / Clarification: So al-Hakim's inclusion of it as a supplement (istidrak) is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part (since it is in al-Bukhari). This narration has also passed earlier (no. 2398) through the route of Abu al-Walid al-Tayalisi from Ishaq bin Sa'id. Details of the narration: And this narration will come later (no. 5167) through the route of Abd Allah bin Umar bin Aban, from Khalid bin Sa'id al-Sa'idi, from his father, from his paternal uncle Khalid bin Sa'id al-Akbar.
