Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is hasan. Technical note / Defect ('illah): It is hasan on account of Humayd bin Ibrahim al-Sa'igh (Humayd bin Abi Ziyad al-Kufi), from whom a group narrated and whom Ibn Hibban mentioned in "al-Thiqat"; Simak bin Harb is also in it, and both of these narrators are "hasan al-hadith". Reference / Source: Ahmad 34/ (20835), Muslim (2344) and Ibn Hibban (6298) and (6301) recorded it via various routes from Shu'bah bin al-Hajjaj with this same chain. Important point: Al-Hakim's including this hadith as a supplement (istidrak, i.e. bringing it into al-Mustadrak) is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part, since it is already in the Sahihayn. Reference / Source: Ahmad (20998, 20999), Muslim (2344), al-Tirmidhi (3644) and Ibn Hibban (6297) recorded it via various routes from Simak bin Harb.
