Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is very feeble (wahin); al-Mufaddal bin Salih is munkar al-hadith.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Dhahabi said about him here in his "Talkhis": "They declared him weak", and at the later place he said: "Mufaddal is feeble (wahin)"; and in his biography in "Mizan al-I'tidal" he regarded this hadith of his as munkar. Abu Ishaq ('Amr bin 'Abd Allah al-Sabi'i) did not hear this hadith from Hanash; rather he narrated it from a man who narrated it to him from him. This is how his grandson Isra'il bin Yunus narrated it from him in Ya'qub bin Sufyan's "al-Ma'rifah wa al-Tarikh" (1/ 538), and this is what al-Daraqutni preferred in "al-'Ilal" (6/ 236). This intermediary is unnamed (mubham) and unknown. As for Hanash bin al-Mu'tamir, he is not that strong.
