Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3213M

I heard Abu Ahmad al-Hafiz mention this; he discussed with me two hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari in which (the narrator) Ya'qub narrates from Sufyan, and Ya'qub narrates from al-Darawardi. Abu Ahmad said: (In these chains) he is Ya'qub bin Humayd (bin Kasib). And Allah knows best.

Note / Clarification: Here Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim quoted from his shaykh Abu Ahmad al-Hakim that in al-Bukhari's "Sahih" there occur two hadiths from the narration of Ya'qub from Sufyan and from al-Darawardi.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This is an oversight on his part, may Allah have mercy on him; for in it (Sahih al-Bukhari) nothing occurs from Ya'qub unattributed (where it is disputed whether he is Ya'qub bin Humayd or someone else) except two hadiths from his narration from Ibrahim bin Sa'd. These two are in his book, as al-Kalabadhi said in "Rijal Sahih al-Bukhari" (1392), in the Book of Reconciliation (al-Sulh) at no. (2697) and in the Book of Military Expeditions (al-Maghazi) at no. (3988). See the comments of al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar on both in "al-Fath".
