وحدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا أبو المثنّى، حدثنا عمرو بن مرزوق، حدثنا صالح المُرِّي. وأخبرني أبو بكر بن قريش، أخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان، حدثنا أبو كُريب، حدثنا زيد بن الحُبَاب، حدثنا صالح المُرِّي، عن قَتَادة عن زُرارة بن أوفى العامِري، عن ابن عباس: أنَّ رجلًا قال: يا رسول الله، أيُّ الأعمال أفضلُ؟ قال: "الحالُّ المُرتحِلُ" قال: يا رسول الله، وما الحالُّ المُرتحِل؟ قال: "صاحبُ القرآن يَضرِبُ من أوّلِه حتى يبلغَ آخرَه، ومن آخرِه حتى يبلغَ أوّلَه، كلما حَلَّ ارتحَلَ" (1). تفرَّد به صالحٌ المرِّي، وهو من زُهّاد أهل البصرة، إلَّا أنَّ الشيخين لم يخرجاه. وله شاهد من حديث أبي هريرة:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man said: "O Messenger of Allah! Which deed is the most excellent?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Al-hall al-murtahil (the one who alights and sets off again)." He asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What is al-hall al-murtahil?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The companion of the Qur'an who recites from its beginning until he reaches its end, and from its end until he reaches its beginning; whenever he alights at a stage, he sets off again."
Salih al-Murri is alone in narrating this report, and he is one of the ascetics of Basrah, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
