Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 139

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Harith al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "One of you speaks a word pleasing to Allah which he does not even imagine will reach so far, and because of it Allah records His pleasure (for him) until the day he meets Him. And one of you speaks a word displeasing to Allah which he does not imagine will reach so far, and because of it Allah records His displeasure (against him) until the day he meets Him."

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Like the previous narrations, this chain is also "hasan" in corroborating chains and supporting reports.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): The author (Imam al-Hakim) attributed it to Imam Muslim, which is an oversight on his part, because Imam Muslim did not narrate it; indeed, he did not take any narration at all from Bilal bin al-Harith in his "Sahih".
