Shurahbil bin al-Simt narrates from Murrah bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made this supplication in the prayer for rain: 'Allahumma-sqina ghaythan mughithan, mari'an sari'an, ghadaqan tabaqan, 'ajilan ghayra ra'ith, nafi'an ghayra darr' (O Allah, give us rain that brings relief, that is wholesome and falls quickly, that is abundant and covers everything, that comes soon and not delayed, that is beneficial and not harmful). Only a week or about that had passed when they were given rain.
