Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 1226

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever makes an oversight in his prayer regarding three or four rak'ahs, let him complete it, for an addition (of a rak'ah) is better than a deficiency."
This hadith is mufassar (explanatory) and has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
