Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to pray the two Eid prayers before the sermon.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it with this wording; they recorded the hadith of Ata from Ibn Abbas in a different wording.

Hadith Takhrij«
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) It is a "sahih hadith"; although al-Hakim's shaykh Abd al-Rahman al-Qadi is weak, he is corroborated, and the remaining narrators are thiqah. Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari (963), Muslim (888), Ibn Majah and al-Tirmidhi (531) narrated it through routes from Abu Usamah. The author's (al-Hakim's) listing it as a mustadrak is an oversight. Reference / Source: Ahmad and al-Nasa'i narrated it through the chain of Abdah bin Sulayman from Ubaydullah al-Umari. Reference / Source: Ahmad and al-Bukhari (957) narrated it through various routes, but Abu Bakr and Umar are not mentioned in it. In the narration of Ibn Lahi'ah only the prayer being before the sermon is mentioned.
(1108). Technical note / Defect ('illah): (1) Rather, the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim) narrated it with these very words; the hadith of Ata' from Ibn Abbas has passed earlier at number (1108).
