It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Jew greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by saying "As-Saam Alaik" (death be upon you). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Call him to me and ask him, did you say 'As-Saam Alaik'?" When he admitted it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (to his companions), "When any of the People of the Book greet you, just say 'Wa Alaik' (and upon you)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse was revealed: "You cannot attain the highest level of righteousness until you spend from that which you love," and this verse: "Who is it that will lend Allah a goodly loan," Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! My such-and-such garden which is at such-and-such place, I give it in the name of Allah, and by God! If it were possible for me to keep it hidden, I would never let anyone find out about it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Distribute it among the poor of your family."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Such people will come to you whose hearts will be even softer than yours." Accordingly, once the Ash'ariyyin came, among whom was Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) as well. When they reached near Madinah Munawwarah, they began to recite these poetic verses: "Tomorrow we will meet our friends, that is, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the first night the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed with Hazrat Zainab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), the next morning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a wedding feast (walima) and fed the Muslims plenty of bread and meat. Then, as usual, he returned and went to the houses of the pure wives and greeted them, and they prayed for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he returned again, and when he reached home, he saw that two men were sitting in a corner of the house talking to each other. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), seeing them, turned back. When those two saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turning back from his house, they quickly stood up. Now I do not remember whether I informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of their departure or someone else did. In any case, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned home and hung a curtain between me and himself, and the verse of hijab was revealed.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Banu Salamah once intended to move from their old residence and settle near the mosque. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of this, he did not like the idea of Madinah becoming empty. Therefore, he said, "O Banu Salamah! Do you not wish to attain the reward for the steps you take towards the mosque?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Khaybar, I was riding behind Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) and my feet were touching the feet of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When we arrived there, the sun had already risen and the people of Khaybar had brought out their livestock and had come out with their axes and mattocks. When they saw us, they said, "Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his army have come." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said "Allahu Akbar" and declared, "Khaybar is destroyed, destroyed! When we descend into the courtyard of a people, the morning of those who have been warned is the worst morning."

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was with one of his wives (most likely Hazrat Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her). Another wife sent a bowl containing some food to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through her servant. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) struck the servant's hand, causing the bowl to fall and break into two pieces. Upon seeing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your mother has ruined it." Then he took both pieces of the bowl, joined them together, gathered the food in it, and said, "Eat from it." He kept the servant there until they had finished. After that, he gave the servant another bowl and left the broken bowl in that house.
