It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The souls of people are like assembled troops; so those souls which become acquainted with one another develop affection among themselves, and those which do not become acquainted develop differences among themselves.

When the fitna of apostasy spread, Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him): How can you fight them when I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this? Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: By Allah! I will not differentiate between prayer and zakat, and I will surely fight those who separate the two. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When I saw that Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was determined to fight, I realized that this was indeed the correct opinion.
