Hadith 10744
Shu'ayb bin Harb (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioning Sufyan Thawri (may Allah have mercy on him), that he said: "He parted from me on the condition that he would not drink nabidh."

" كُلْ تَمْرًا , وَاشْرَبْ مَاءً , يَصِيرُ فِي بَطْنِكَ نَبِيذًا " .
Ibrahim bin Sa’d, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I bear witness regarding Sufyan Thawri, may Allah have mercy on him, that either I or someone else asked him about nabidh. He replied: Eat dates and then drink water over it; when it enters the stomach, it will itself become nabidh.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I, Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) set out to present ourselves before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) informed us that he had gone towards the Mosque of Taqwa (Masjid Quba). We proceeded there, and on the way, we encountered the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The hands of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were on the shoulders of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them). When we approached the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said, "Abu Bakr! Who are these people?" They replied, "Abdullah bin Umar, Abu Huraira, and Samurah (may Allah be pleased with them)."

When the adhan is finished, he comes back. Then when the iqamah is started, he runs away again, and when the iqamah is completed, he comes back again and puts whispers into the heart of a person and says, "Remember such and such thing, remember such and such thing," and he reminds him of things which he did not remember before, to the extent that a person does not even remember how many rak‘ahs he has prayed. When this happens to someone, he should perform two prostrations of forgetfulness while sitting.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This month has cast its shadow over you. By Allah, the Prophet swears that no month better than Ramadan casts its shadow over the Muslims, and no month harsher than Ramadan comes upon the hypocrites. Allah Almighty begins to write its reward and voluntary acts before its arrival, and He also begins to write the persistence of the hypocrites in sins and their wretchedness beforehand. The reason for this is that Muslims prepare strength for worship in this month, while the hypocrites seek out people's heedlessness and faults. Thus, this month is a bounty for the Muslim, over which the sinful people are envious.
