It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once, in the realm of souls, there was a debate between Hazrat Adam and Hazrat Musa (peace be upon them). Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) said: O Adam! Allah created you with His own hand, made His angels prostrate to you, and settled you in Paradise, then you did this deed? O Musa, Allah chose you to speak with Him and revealed the Torah to you. Tell me, was I first or the command of Allah? He said: The command of Allah. In this way, Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) prevailed over Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him).

Whoever (falls victim to this deception and) buys such a she-camel or she-goat, he has the choice of two options, whichever is better for him: either he keeps the animal with him (and settles the matter), or he returns the animal to its owner and gives along with it a sa’ (measure) of dates.

In the meantime, another funeral passed by and people mentioned the bad qualities and condemnation of the deceased. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It has become obligatory." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is meant by 'it has become obligatory'?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You are Allah's witnesses on the earth."

His saliva began to flow onto the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked up and saw a date in his mouth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put his hand in and took the date out of his mouth and said: "Do you not know that the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) does not eat charity?"
