People began to talk about the proximity of their battlefield, the abundance of spoils, and their swift return. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Shall I not tell you of a place even closer, with more abundant spoils and a quicker return? Whoever performs ablution and sets out towards the mosque for the Duha prayer, he attains a place even closer, with more abundant spoils and a quicker return than that.'"

Abdullah bin Dailami (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I reached Syedna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was in his garden called "Wahat" in Taif, and he was bending a young man of the Quraysh by placing his hand on the young man's waist. This young man was being punished for drinking alcohol. I said to him that I have heard this hadith attributed to you: that whoever drinks a sip of alcohol, Allah does not accept his repentance for forty days? And that the truly wretched one is he who is wretched from his mother's womb, and that whoever visits Bayt al-Maqdis with the sole purpose of praying there, he will be cleansed of sins as if he was born from his mother's womb. Upon hearing the mention of alcohol, the young man freed his hand and left, and Syedna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I do not permit anyone to attribute to me something I have not said. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever drinks a sip of alcohol, his prayer is not accepted for forty days. If he repents, Allah accepts his repentance. If he drinks again, then again his prayer is not accepted for forty days. If he repents, Allah accepts his repentance. The third or fourth time, he said: If he drinks again, it is Allah's right to make him drink the pus of the people of Hell on the Day of Resurrection. And I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Allah created His creation in darkness, then on that day He cast His light upon them. Whoever received that light was guided, and whoever did not receive that light went astray. That is why I say that the pens have dried after writing according to Allah's knowledge. And I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Syedna Sulaiman (peace be upon him) made three supplications to Allah, of which Allah accepted two, and we hope that the third will also be for him. He asked Allah for the ability to make correct judgments, and Allah granted it to him. He asked Allah for a kingdom that would not be given to anyone after him, and Allah granted it to him. He asked Allah that whoever leaves his house with the intention of praying in Masjid al-Aqsa, after praying there, he should return as free from sins as the day his mother gave birth to him. We hope that Allah has also granted him this.

And on another day, we were sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the sun was rising. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a woman committed theft. The people from whom the theft had occurred caught the woman and brought her to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! This woman has stolen from us." The people of that woman's tribe said, "We are ready to pay her ransom." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Cut off her hand." They said, "We are ready to give fifty dinars as her ransom." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said, "Cut off her hand." Thus, her right hand was cut off. Later, the woman said, "O Messenger of Allah! Can my repentance be accepted?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You are now so purified from your sins that it is as if your mother has given birth to you today." On this occasion, Allah Almighty revealed this verse of Surah Al-Ma'idah: Whoever repents after his wrongdoing and reforms, Allah will accept his repentance.
