It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seek refuge with Allah from knowledge that is of no benefit, a supplication that is not accepted, a heart devoid of humility and submissiveness, and a soul that is never satisfied.
Hadith 6558

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was sitting in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the mention of deeds arose. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." Someone asked, "Not even striving in the way of Allah?" He said: "Not even striving in the way of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and wealth and does not return with anything, until his blood is shed." (The narrator says that "these days" refers to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.)

An elder says that I entered a mosque in Syria. I had just sat down after offering two rak'ahs when a man came and began to pray behind a pillar. When he finished his prayer, people gathered around him. I asked, "Who is he?" People told me, "He is Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him)." Meanwhile, a messenger from Yazid came to him. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "He wants to stop me from narrating hadiths to you, and your Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a soul that is never satisfied, from a heart devoid of humility and submission, from knowledge that is not beneficial, and from a supplication that is not accepted. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from these four things.'"

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us, and at that time he had two books in his blessed hands. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Do you know what these two books are like?" We replied, "No, but if you, O Messenger of Allah, inform us, then we will know." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed towards the book in his right hand and said: "This is the Book of Allah, Lord of the worlds, in which the names of the people of Paradise, their forefathers, and their tribes are written. There can be no addition or subtraction in it, for the names of all up to the last person have been recorded in it." The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! When this matter has been completed, then for what purpose should we act?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Remain steadfast and seek closeness, for the end of a person of Paradise will be upon the deeds of the people of Paradise, even if he does whatever deeds he may, and the end of a person of Hell will be upon the deeds of the people of Hell, even if he does whatever deeds he may." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a fist with his hand and said: "Your Lord has finished writing the destinies of the servants." Then he pointed to his right hand and blew on it and said: "One group will be in Paradise." After that, he blew on his left hand and said: "And one group will be in Hell."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Do you know who among the creation of Allah will be the first to enter Paradise?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first among the creation of Allah to enter Paradise will be those poor and emigrants upon whose arrival the doors were closed, through whom people would avoid undesirable matters, and who would die with their needs in their chests but could not fulfill them. Allah Almighty will command whomever He wills from among His angels to go to them and greet them with peace. The angels will say, 'We are the inhabitants of the heavens and the chosen ones among Your creation, and You are commanding us to greet them with peace?' Allah Almighty will say, 'These are the people who worshipped Me alone, did not associate anyone with Me, the doors were closed upon them, through them people would avoid undesirable matters, and they would die with their needs in their chests but could not fulfill them.' Thus, the angels will come to them and from every door will call out, 'Peace be upon you for the patience you observed; how excellent is the final home of the Hereafter.'"

When they were commanded, they would listen and obey, and when any of them had a matter to present before a king, it would not be fulfilled for him until he would die with it in his chest. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will call Paradise, and it will come adorned and beautified. Then Allah Almighty will say: O My servants, who fought in My way and were killed, who were persecuted in My way, and who strove hard in My way, enter Paradise. Thus, they will enter Paradise without reckoning or punishment... Then the narrator mentioned the complete hadith.

When the woman arrived, it became clear that she was Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her, "Fatimah! Have you left your house for some work?" She replied, "I came to the people living in this house; there had been a death here, so I thought I would offer condolences and pray for mercy for the deceased." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then you must have gone with them to the graveyard?" She replied, "God forbid that I would go with them to the graveyard, while I remember what I have heard from you about this." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you had gone with them, you would not have seen Paradise until your father's grandfather saw it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me the Qur'an." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Recite those three surahs which begin with 'Alif Lam Ra'." The man said, "I am old, my heart has become hard, and my tongue is heavy." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then recite the three surahs which begin with 'Ha Meem'." He repeated his previous statement. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised him to recite the three surahs which begin with 'Sabbih', but he again repeated the same thing and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me a comprehensive surah." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him Surah Az-Zalzalah. When he finished reciting it, he said, "By Him Who sent you with the truth, I will never add anything to this," and he turned away and left. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about him twice: "This man has succeeded." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring him to me." When he came, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to offer sacrifice on the day of Eid al-Adha, and Allah has made this day a day of Eid for this Ummah." The man said, "Tell me, if I do not find any animal except the animal of my son, should I sacrifice that?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather trim your nails, cut your hair, shorten your mustache, and shave the hair below the navel. With Allah, these acts will be considered a complete sacrifice on your behalf."
Hadith 6576
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while mentioning prayer, said: "Whoever observes it regularly, it will be a light, a proof, and a means of salvation for him on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever does not observe prayer regularly, it will not be a light, a proof, or a means of salvation for him, and on the Day of Resurrection, he will be with Qarun, Pharaoh, Haman, and Ubayy ibn Khalaf."
Hadith 6577
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that I heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whenever a group of Mujahideen fights in the way of Allah and obtains spoils of war, two-thirds of their reward is given to them immediately, and one-third is kept for them. And if they do not obtain any spoils of war, then the entire reward is kept for them.
Hadith 6578
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: On the Day of Resurrection, the poor emigrants will enter Paradise forty years before the wealthy. Sayyiduna Abdullah used to say: If you wish, we can give you something from ourselves, and if you wish, we can mention your case to the ruler. The people said: We will be patient and will not ask for anything.
Hadith 6579
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that I heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Allah ordained the destinies of the creatures fifty thousand years before the creation of the heavens and the earth.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever among the Muslims dies on the day of Jumu'ah or the night of Jumu'ah, Allah saves him from the trial of the grave."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) when a Bedouin came, wearing a very expensive cloak with buttons of brocade and silk. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your companion has completely adopted the style of Fars ibn Fars (a pure Persian man); it seems as if only Persian children will be born to him and the lineage of shepherds will come to an end." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gathered the cloak from various parts and said: "I do not see the clothing of fools on your body?" Then he said: "When the time of death of Allah's Prophet Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) approached, he said to his son: 'I am advising you with a will in which I command you to do two things and forbid you from two things. I command you to keep affirming La ilaha illallah, for if the seven heavens and the seven earths were placed on one side of the scale and La ilaha illallah on the other, the side with La ilaha illallah would outweigh. And if the seven heavens and the seven earths were a closed ring, La ilaha illallah would break it. And the second is to keep reciting Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi, for this is the prayer of everything and through it the creation receives sustenance.' And I forbid you from shirk and arrogance." I or someone else asked, "O Messenger of Allah! We understand shirk, but what is meant by arrogance? Is arrogance that a person has two good straps on his two good shoes?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." Then he was asked, "Is arrogance that a person's clothing is good?" He said: "No." The questioner asked again, "Is arrogance that a person has a mount on which he can ride?" He said: "No." The questioner asked, "Is arrogance that a person has companions with whom he sits?" He said: "No." The questioner asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Then what is arrogance?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not accepting the truth and looking down on people."
Hadith 6584
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Abdullah, do not be like that person who used to get up for the night prayer and then abandoned it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that Jews used to come to the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and say "Sam Alaik" (death be upon you). Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a certain person once intended that in the future he should be called "Junadah bin Abi Umayyah" (even though Abu Umayyah was not his father's name). When Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) found out, he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever attributes himself to someone other than his father will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise, even though the fragrance of Paradise can be perceived from a distance of seventy years." And he said: "Whoever falsely attributes something to me should make his abode in Hell."
Hadith 6593
Amr bin Harish (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that we are in a place where dinar or dirham are not in use, so we buy and sell camels and goats for a fixed period. What is your opinion about this? He replied: "You have asked a knowledgeable man. Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) prepared an army in the hope that the camels of charity would arrive. The camels ran out and some people were left (who could not get mounts). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: 'Buy camels for us on the condition that when the camels of charity arrive, they will be given in their place.' So I bought one camel in exchange for two camels, and sometimes in exchange for three, until I was done, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) paid them from the camels of charity."
Hadith 6594
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sought refuge from seven types of death: sudden death, death by snake bite, being eaten by a wild animal, dying by burning, dying by drowning, dying by falling onto something or something falling onto him, and being killed while fleeing from the battlefield.

He mentioned this to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I saw nothing but good (I did not see anything bad, but still I did not like it)." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has protected them."
