Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) gave his wife a divorce while she was in her menstrual period. Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this issue, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that he should take her back and wait until she has her menstrual period again and then wait until she becomes pure, then before approaching his wife, he may divorce her. This is the method according to which Allah has given men permission to divorce their wives. It was the practice of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when he was asked about a person who divorces his wife during her menstrual period, he would say: I had given my wife one or two divorces, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to take my wife back and wait for the next menstrual period and then for her to become pure, then before approaching her, to divorce her. Whereas you have given your wife three divorces; you have disobeyed the command of Allah which He has given you regarding divorcing your wife, and your wife has become unlawful for you until she marries another man besides you.

And his stay in Makkah would be according to the wishes of Quraysh. Accordingly, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came the following year for Umrah and entered Makkah according to the terms of the treaty.
Sa’d bin Ubaidah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was sitting with Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them). After a little while, I got up from there and went to sit with Sa’eed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him). Meanwhile, my Kindi companion came; the color of his face was changed and pale yellow. As soon as he arrived, he said that a man came to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) and said, “O Abu Abdur Rahman! If I swear by the Ka’bah, will there be any sin upon me?” He replied, “What need do you have to swear by the Ka’bah? If you want to swear by the Ka’bah, then swear by the Lord of the Ka’bah, because Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to swear by his father. One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not swear by your fathers, for whoever swears by other than Allah commits shirk.”
Hadith 6074
Sa’d bin Ubaidah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard a man saying, “Tonight will be the middle of the month.” Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: “How do you know that this is the middle of the month? Rather, say that it is the fifteenth date. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that sometimes the month is like this, like this, and like this.” The narrator folded the finger the third time which indicates the number thirty.

Hadith 6077
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every nation has its Magians, and the Magians of my nation are the Qadariyyah (those who deny predestination). If they fall ill, do not visit them, and if they die, do not attend their funeral.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) received a piece of land from the Jews of Banu Haritha in Khaybar as his share, which was called Thamgh. He presented himself before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! A piece of land from Khaybar has come to me as my share, and I have never received any wealth better than this. I wish to give it in charity." So Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) dedicated it as a waqf for the poor, close relatives, slaves, warriors, travelers, and guests, such that it could neither be sold, nor gifted, nor inherited. However, the people of opinion from the family of Imran would be its administrators. And he said: There is no harm for the administrator of this land to eat from it in a good manner, or to feed a friend "who does not intend to enrich himself from it." Amr bin Dinar says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to send a gift from it to Abdullah bin Safwan. Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) also gave her land in charity. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) also gave his land in charity on the same conditions, and Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) was its supervisor.
