Hadith 4528
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ
مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ ، وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ : اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْر ، كَيْلًا ، وَالْكَرْمِ بِالزَّبِيبِ كَيْلًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Muzabanah. Muzabanah means selling dates that are still on the trees in exchange for harvested dates, or selling grapes in exchange for raisins according to a specified estimate.
Hadith 4529
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carried out the punishment of stoning on a Jewish man and woman.
Hadith 4530
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered Witr prayer on a camel.
Hadith 4531
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا
مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ تَلَقِّي السِّلَعِ حَتَّى يُهْبَطَ بِهَا الْأَسْوَاقُ ، وَنَهَى عَنِ النَّجْشِ ، وَقَالَ : لَا يَبِعْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَيْعِ بَعْضٍ " . (حديث موقوف) (حديث مرفوع) " وَكَانَ إِذَا عَجَّلَ بِهِ السَّيْرُ ، جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade meeting traders before they reach the market and from deceptive sales, and that none of you should sell over the sale of his brother. And when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in a hurry during travel, he would perform a symbolic joining (jam‘ suri) between Maghrib and Isha prayers.
Hadith 4532
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had the trees of Banu Nadir cut down and set them on fire.
Hadith 4533
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he performed two rak'ahs with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at Mina.
Hadith 4534
Matlab bin Abdullah says that Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to wash the limbs of ablution three times each, and he attributed this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ
سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ
ابْنَ عُمَرَ " سَمِعَ صَوْتَ زَمَّارَةِ رَاعٍ ، فَوَضَعَ أُصْبُعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ ، وَعَدَلَ رَاحِلَتَهُ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ ، يَقُولُ : يَا نَافِعُ ، أَتَسْمَعُ ؟ فَأَقُولُ : نَعَمْ ، فَيَمْضِي ، حَتَّى قُلْتُ : لَا ، فَوَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ ، وَأَعَادَ رَاحِلَتَهُ إِلَى الطَّرِيقِ ، وَقَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ زَمَّارَةِ رَاعٍ ، فَصَنَعَ مِثْلَ هَذَا .
Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him), who was the freed slave of Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), says: Once, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was walking along a road when the sound of a shepherd’s singing and musical instrument reached his ears. He put his fingers in his ears and left that path, and at intervals he kept asking me, “Nafi’, can you still hear the sound?” If I replied “yes,” he kept walking, until when I said “no,” he removed his hands from his ears and brought his mount back onto the road. He then said, “I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do the same when he heard the sound of a shepherd’s singing and musical instrument.”
Hadith 4536
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A fire will emerge from Hadramaut, which is a region of Syria, and it will drive the people forward." We asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What do you command us to do at that time?" He said: "Make the land of Syria obligatory upon yourselves (go there)."
Hadith 4537
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you eats, he should eat with his right hand, and when he drinks, he should drink with his right hand, for indeed Satan eats and drinks with his left hand."

سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا يَلْبَسُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ ؟ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً : مَا يَتْرُكُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَا يَلْبَسُ الْقَمِيصَ ، وَلَا الْبُرْنُسَ ، وَلَا السَّرَاوِيلَ ، وَلَا الْعِمَامَةَ ، وَلَا ثَوْبًا مَسَّهُ الْوَرْسُ ، وَلَا الزَّعْفَرَانُ ، وَلَا الْخُفَّيْنِ ، إِلَّا لِمَنْ لَا يَجِدُ نَعْلَيْنِ ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ الْخُفَّيْنِ ، وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا حَتَّى يَكُونَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! What clothing can a person in the state of ihram wear?" Or he asked: "What clothing should a person in ihram avoid?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He cannot wear a shirt, trousers, turban, or leather socks, except if he does not find shoes. Whoever does not find shoes should cut the leather socks below the ankles and wear them. Likewise, a cap or any garment that has been touched by wars (a kind of grass) or saffron, the person in ihram should not wear that either."

سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْر وَعُمَرَ " يَمْشُونَ أَمَامَ الْجِنَازَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the two Shaykhs walking in front of the funeral procession.
Hadith 4540

سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ ، وَبَعْدَ مَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ " ، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً : وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ ، وَأَكْثَرُ مَا كَانَ يَقُولُ : وَبَعْدَ مَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ ، وَلَا يَرْفَعُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raising his hands to the level of his shoulders at the beginning of the prayer. I also saw him raising his hands when going into bowing (ruku‘) and after raising his head from bowing. However, between the two prostrations, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not raise his hands.

سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ " ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : كَذَا حَفِظْنَا الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ ، وَأَخْبَرَهُمْ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " رَخَّصَ فِي الْعَرَايَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling dates that are still on the trees in exchange for already cut dates according to a specified estimate. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith to me, that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the sale of ‘ariyah (dates on the tree) according to an estimate.
Hadith 4542
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): I have seen that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in a hurry while traveling, he would combine Maghrib and Isha prayers.
Hadith 4543
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَمَّا يَقْتُلُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ ؟ قَالَ : " خَمْسٌ لَا جُنَاحَ فِي قَتْلِهِنَّ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُنَّ فِي الْحَرَمِ : الْعَقْرَبُ ، وَالْفَأْرَةُ ، وَالْغُرَابُ ، وَالْحِدَأَةُ ، وَالْكَلْبُ الْعَقُورُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once someone asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Which animals can a Muhrim kill? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A scorpion, a mouse, a kite, a crow, and a rabid dog can be killed."
Hadith 4544
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلَاثٍ : الْفَرَسِ ، وَالْمَرْأَةِ ، وَالدَّارِ " ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : إِنَّمَا نَحْفَظُهُ عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، يَعْنِي : " الشُّوْمَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Omen could have been in three things: in the horse, in the woman, and in the house."
Hadith 4545
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الَّذِي تَفُوتُهُ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ فَكَأَنَّمَا وُتِرَ أَهْلَهُ وَمَالَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever misses the Asr prayer, it is as if his family and wealth have been destroyed."
Hadith 4546
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ رِوَايَةً ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَتْرُكُوا النَّارَ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ حِينَ تَنَامُونَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you go to sleep, do not leave fire burning in your houses."
Hadith 4547
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، رَأَى رَجُلٌ أَنَّ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ لَيْلَةُ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرَى رُؤْيَاكُمْ قَدْ تَوَاطَأَتْ ، فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْبَوَاقِي ، فِي الْوِتْرِ مِنْهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man saw in a dream that Laylat al-Qadr is on the twenty-seventh night of Ramadan. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I see that your dreams coincide and agree upon the last seven nights, so whoever among you seeks Laylat al-Qadr should seek it in the odd nights of the last ten nights."
Hadith 4548
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، سَمِعَ
سَالِمًا ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : وَأَبِي وَأَبِي ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ " ، قَالَ عُمَرُ : فَوَاللَّهِ ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا حَلَفْتُ بِهَا ذَاكِرًا وَلَا آثِرًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) swearing by his father. He said: "Allah Almighty forbids you from swearing oaths by the names of your forefathers. Therefore, when any one of you wants to swear an oath, let him swear by the name of Allah, otherwise let him remain silent." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "After that, I never swore such an oath intentionally or even while quoting someone."
Hadith 4549
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog that is neither for guarding livestock nor a hunting dog, then two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day."
Hadith 4550
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ ، فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ، وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا ، فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُهُ فِي الْحَقِّ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ " .
This prophetic saying is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): It is not permissible to envy (feel jealous of) anyone except two persons: one is the person whom Allah has granted the wealth of the Qur'an and he remains engaged in its recitation day and night; and the other is the person whom Allah has granted wealth and property and he is made to spend it in the way of truth.
Hadith 4551
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ ، فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bilal gives the call to prayer during the night, so keep eating and drinking until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the call to prayer."
Hadith 4552
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَال : " مَنْ بَاعَ عَبْدًا وَلَهُ مَالٌ ، فَمَالُهُ لِلْبَائِعِ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ الْمُبْتَاعُ ، وَمَنْ بَاعَ نَخْلًا مُؤَبَّرًا ، فَالثَّمَرَةُ لِلْبَائِعِ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ الْمُبْتَاعُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sells a tree in which date palms have been grafted, then its fruit will belong to the seller, unless the buyer stipulates otherwise."
Hadith 4553
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ جَاءَ مِنْكُمْ الْجُمُعَةَ ، فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you comes for Jumu'ah, he should come after performing ghusl (ritual bath)."
Hadith 4554
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّه سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَعِظُ أَخَاهُ فِي الْحَيَاءِ ، فَقَالَ : " الْحَيَاءُ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man advising another regarding modesty (saying: do not be so modest), so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Modesty is a part of faith."
Hadith 4555
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَّتَ ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : " مُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ ، وَأَهْلِ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ ، وَأَهْلِ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ ، قَالَ : وَذُكِرَ لِي وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ : وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed Dhu’l-Hulayfah as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Sham, and Qarn for the people of Najd. And I have been informed, though I did not hear it myself, that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Yemen will assume ihram from Yalamlam.
Hadith 4556
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَتْ أَحَدَكُمْ امْرَأَتُهُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَلَا يَمْنَعْهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of your wives asks permission to go to the mosque, he should not refuse her permission."
Hadith 4557
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْتُلُوا الْحَيَّاتِ وَذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ وَالْأَبْتَرَ ، فَإِنَّهُمَا يَلْتَمِسَانِ الْبَصَرَ ، وَيَسْتَسْقِطَانِ الْحَبَلَ " ، وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَقْتُلُ كُلَّ حَيَّةٍ وَجَدَهَا ، فَرَآهُ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ أَوْ زَيْدُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَهُوَ يُطَارِدُ حَيَّةً ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّهُ قَدْ نُهِيَ عَنْ ذَوَاتِ الْبُيُوتِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Kill snakes, especially those with two stripes and those with short tails, for these two cause blindness in humans and miscarriage." Therefore, whenever Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) found a snake, he would kill it. On one occasion, Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him) or Zayd bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him driving away a snake, so he said that it is forbidden to kill snakes that enter houses.
Hadith 4558
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should eat from his sacrificial meat for more than three days (later this command was abrogated)."
Hadith 4559
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم َسُئِلَ كَيْفَ يُصَلَّى بِاللَّيْلِ ؟ قَالَ : " لِيُصَلِّ أَحَدُكُمْ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خَشِيَ الصُّبْحَ ، فَلْيُوتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! How should the night prayer be performed?" He replied: "You should pray in sets of two rak‘ahs, and when you fear that morning is near, then add one rak‘ah as witr to those two."
Hadith 4560
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling or gifting the right of wala.
Hadith 4561
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنِي
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ عُذِّبُوا إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ فَلَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمْ مِثْلُ مَا أَصَابَهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Enter the lands of the punished nations weeping; if you are not able to weep, then do not go there, for I fear that the same punishment that befell them may befall you."
Hadith 4562
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the lizard. He (peace be upon him) said: "I neither eat it nor do I declare it unlawful."
Hadith 4563
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، سَمِعْتُهُ مِنِ
ابْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكَ الْيَهُودِيُّ ، فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ : السَّامُ عَلَيْكَ ، فَقُلْ : وَعَلَيْكَ " ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : " إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ الْيَهُودُ فَقُولُوا : وَعَلَيْكُمْ ، فَإِنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ : السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a Jew greets you with Salam, he says «السام عليك», so in reply you should only say «وعليك»." And in another narration: When the Jews greet you with Salam, you should say "Wa Alaikum" in response, because they say «السام عليكم» (death be upon you).
Hadith 4564
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً ، فَلَا يَتَنَاجَ اثْنَانِ دُونَ الثَّالِثِ " ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يَتَنَاجَى الرَّجُلَانِ دُونَ الثَّالِثِ ، إِذَا كَانُوا ثَلَاثَةً " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are three people, then two of you should not whisper to each other leaving the third one out."
Hadith 4565
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُبَايِعُ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ " ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : فَيُلَقِّنُ أَحَدَنَا : " فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to take allegiance on the condition of listening and obeying, then he would say: "As much as you are able (you will listen and obey as far as possible)."
Hadith 4566
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: The seller and the buyer have the option (to cancel the transaction) as long as they do not separate, or until it is a sale with an option.
Hadith 4567
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ سَمِعَ
ابْنَ عُمَرَ ابْنَ ابْنِهِ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ وَاقِدٍ : يَا بُنَيَّ ، سَمِعْت رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ خُيَلَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever drags his clothes on the ground out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him with mercy on the Day of Resurrection.
