Hadith 6440
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever endures the hardships and difficulties of Madinah with patience, I will intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 6441
Tawoos says that a man asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibit nabidh (fermented drink) made in gourds and pumpkins?" He replied, "Yes." Tawoos says, "I myself heard this."
Hadith 6442
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drags his clothes on the ground out of arrogance, Allah Almighty will not look at him with mercy on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 6443
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog that is neither for guarding livestock nor a hunting dog, then two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day."
Hadith 6444
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: When women ask you for permission to go to the mosque, then grant them permission.
Hadith 6445
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he went out with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) did not come out of the state of ihram. He went out with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them), and they too did not come out of the state of ihram.
Hadith 6446
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Oppression will appear as darknesses on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 6447
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, a flag will be raised for every deceiver, and it will be announced that this is the deception of so-and-so, son of so-and-so."

عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الَّذِي لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ يُمَثِّلُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى لَهُ مَالَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ ، لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ ، فَيَلْزَمُهُ ، أَوْ يُطَوِّقُهُ ، قَالَ : يَقُولُ : أَنَا كَنْزُكَ , أَنَا كَنْزُكَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not pay the zakat of his wealth, on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will come in the form of a bald snake, which will have two black spots over its eyes. That snake will be made into a collar and hung around his neck, and it will say to him: 'I am your treasure, I am your treasure.'"
Hadith 6449

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنِي
دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَنَزَلَ صَاحِبٌ لَهُ يُوتِرُ ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : مَا شَأْنُكَ لَا تَرْكَبُ ؟ قَالَ : أُوتِرُ , قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : " أَلَيْسَ لَكَ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ ؟ ! " .
Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) reported that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was on a journey. One of his students dismounted from his mount to pray Witr, so he asked him, “What is the matter? Why did you not remain mounted?” He replied, “I want to pray Witr.” Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Is there not for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example?”
Hadith 6450
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Spread peace, feed food, and live as brothers according to the command of Allah."
Hadith 6451
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not meet the traders before their goods reach the market, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also forbade the sale involving deception."
Hadith 6452
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave this ruling: "The right of wala' belongs only to the one who frees the slave."
Hadith 6453

حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ
مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا لَهُ فِي مَمْلُوكٍ ، قُوِّمَ عَلَيْهِ فِي مَالِهِ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ ، عَتَقَ مِنْهُ مَا عَتَقَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever frees his share of a jointly owned slave, the value of the slave will be assessed. If he does not have wealth, then only the portion he has freed will remain freed."
Hadith 6454

حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ
مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً قِبَلَ نَجْدٍ ، كُنْتُ فِيهَا ، فَغَنِمْنَا إِبِلًا كَثِيرَةً ، وَكَانَتْ سِهَامُنَا أَحَدَ عَشَرَ ، أَوْ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ بَعِيرًا ، وَنُفِّلْنَا بَعِيرًا بَعِيرًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A detachment was sent towards Najd: their share became twelve camels each, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also gave us one camel each as a reward."
Hadith 6455
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " بِسَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ " ، يَعْنِي : صَلَاةَ الْجَمِيعِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The superiority of prayer in congregation over prayer performed alone is twenty-seven degrees."
Hadith 6456
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَعْفُوا اللِّحَى وَحُفُّوا الشَّوَارِبَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Trim the moustaches thoroughly and let the beard grow abundantly."
Hadith 6457
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to stone the Jamarat on foot after the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, and he used to state that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also did likewise.
Hadith 6458
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) a piece of land called Sharir as a fief: "And the manner was that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted a swift horse and made it run, then stopped at a place, threw his whip, and said: 'Give Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) the land up to where this whip has reached.'"
Hadith 6459
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He forbade qaza." Qaza means that when cutting a child's hair, some hair is cut and some is left (as is the fashion nowadays).
Hadith 6460
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَوَّلُ صَدَقَةٍ كَانَتْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ صَدَقَةُ عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " احْبِسْ أُصُولَهَا ، وَسَبِّلْ ثَمَرَتَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the very first charity in Islam was that which Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Keep its original property with you and give its profits in charity."
Hadith 6461
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُعَلِّمُنَا الْقُرْآنَ ، فَإِذَا مَرَّ بِسُجُودِ الْقُرْآنِ سَجَدَ وَسَجَدْنَا مَعَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach us the Noble Qur'an. During this, if he recited a verse of prostration and performed prostration, we would also perform prostration with him.
Hadith 6462
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ
ابْنُ عُمَرَ " يَبِيتُ بِذِي طُوًى ، فَإِذَا أَصْبَحَ اغْتَسَلَ ، وَأَمَرَ مَنْ مَعَهُ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلُوا ، وَيَدْخُلُ مِنَ الْعُلْيَا ، فَإِذَا خَرَجَ خَرَجَ مِنَ السُّفْلَى " ، وَيَزْعُمُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ .
Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) reports that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would spend the night at the place of Dhi Tuwa, perform ghusl after dawn, and instruct his companions to perform ghusl as well. He would enter from Thaniyyah ‘Ulya and exit from Thaniyyah Sufla, and he used to mention that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did the same.
Hadith 6463
Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to perform ramal (brisk walking) from the Black Stone to the Black Stone in the initial circuits of tawaf. He believed that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also used to do the same.
Hadith 6464
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " حَمَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّقِيعَ لِلْخَيْلِ " ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , يَعْنِي الْعُمَرِيَّ خَيْلِهِ ؟ قَالَ : خَيْلِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made Naqi’ a pasture for horses. Hammad says: I asked, "For his own horses?" The teacher replied, "No, rather for the horses of the Muslims."
Hadith 6465
Imam Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I used to go to and come from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) for about two years, but during this period I did not hear any hadith from him except this one. Then he mentioned the hadith about the lizard.
Hadith 6466
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) organized a horse race and set a specific place, stipulating a condition.
Hadith 6467
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded that the Sadaqat al-Fitr should be given before going out to the Eid prayer ground.
Hadith 6468

عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً لَا يَسْقُطُ وَرَقُهَا ، وَإِنَّهَا مَثَلُ الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ " ، قَالَ : فَوَقَعَ النَّاسُ فِي شَجَرِ الْبَوَادِي ، وَكُنْتُ مِنْ أَحْدَثِ النَّاسِ ، وَوَقَعَ فِي صَدْرِي أَنَّهَا النَّخْلَةُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ " ، قَالَ : فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِأَبِي ، فَقَالَ : لَأَنْ تَكُونَ قُلْتَهُ ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ كَذَا وَكَذَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is a tree whose leaves do not fall, and it is like a Muslim. Tell me, which tree is that?" People began to think of various trees in the forest. In my heart, I thought it could be the date palm tree. After a little while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself said: "It is the date palm tree." I mentioned this to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "At that moment, your speaking up would have been more beloved to me than such and such thing."
Hadith 6469
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " قَاطَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَهْلَ خَيْبَرَ عَلَى الشَّطْرِ ، وَكَانَ يُعْطِي نِسَاءَهُ مِنْهَا مِئَةَ وَسْقٍ ، ثَمَانِينَ تَمْرًا ، وَعِشْرِينَ شَعِيرًا " , قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثَ إِلَى آخِرِهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) settled this agreement with the people of Khaybar: "Whatever produce comes from the fruits and crops, you will give half of it to us." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to give his noble wives one hundred wasqs from this every year, of which eighty wasqs were dates and twenty wasqs were barley.
Hadith 6470
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the wife I had was disliked by Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). He said to me, "Divorce her." I hesitated in divorcing her, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: .
Hadith 6471
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command us to perform short prayers, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself, while leading us in prayer, would suffice with (a few verses) from Surah As-Saffat.
Hadith 6472
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to buy and sell grain by estimation, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from selling it in this manner until it was taken to our own tents.
Hadith 6473
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he performed Maghrib and Isha prayers with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at Muzdalifah with a single iqamah.

(حديث مرفوع) قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ سَمَاعًا , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
الأسود بن عامر ، حَدَّثَنَا
شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ
ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ كَانَ مُتَحَرِّيَهَا ، فَلْيَتَحَرَّهَا فِي لَيْلَةِ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ " , قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : وَذَكَرَ لِي رَجُلٌ ثِقَةٌ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ , أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : إِنَّمَا قَالَ : مَنْ كَانَ مُتَحَرِّيَهَا ، فَلْيَتَحَرَّهَا فِي السَّبْعِ الْبَوَاقِي " , قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : فَلَا أَدْرِي قَالَ ذَا أَوْ ذَا ؟ شُعْبَةُ شَكَّ , قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ أَحْمَّد : قَالَ أَبِي : الرَّجُلُ الثِّقَةُ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that regarding Laylat al-Qadr, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wishes to seek it, let him seek it on the twenty-seventh night."
Hadith 6475
Ikramah bin Khalid, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I came to Madinah Munawwarah with some people from Makkah Mukarramah. We wanted to enter into the state of Ihram for Umrah from Madinah Munawwarah. There I met Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both. I said to him: We are some people of Makkah who have come to Madinah Munawwarah, and before this, we have not performed Hajj at all. Can we enter into Ihram for Umrah from Madinah? He replied: "Yes, what is prohibited in this? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed all his Umrahs before Hajj, and we have also performed Umrahs."
Hadith 6476
(حديث مرفوع) قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ : حَدَّثَنَا
عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَفْصٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
وَرْقَاءُ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ السَّائِبِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُبَيْرٍ إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ سورة الكوثر آية 1 هُوَ الْخَيْرُ الْكَثِيرُ ، وَقَالَ
عَطَاءٌ ، عَنْ
مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْكَوْثَرُ : نَهَرٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، حَافَّتَاهُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَالْمَاءُ يَجْرِي عَلَى اللُّؤْلُؤِ ، وَمَاؤُهُ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ " .
Ata bin Saib, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once Muharib bin Dithar said to me: "What have you heard Sa'id bin Jubayr, may Allah have mercy on him, say regarding al-Kawthar from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him?" I said: "I heard him say that it means abundant good." Muharib said: "Subhan Allah! The statement of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, cannot be so insignificant. I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, say that when Surah al-Kawthar was revealed, the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Al-Kawthar is the name of a river in Paradise, whose water flows over pebbles of pearls and rubies. Its water is sweeter than honey, whiter than milk, colder than snow, and more fragrant than musk.'" Upon hearing this, Muharib said: "Then indeed Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, has spoken the truth, for by Allah, it is indeed abundant good." End of the Musnad of Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him.
