Supplement to the Musnad of ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 25998
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَدِرْعُهُ مَرْهُونَةٌ بِثَلَاثِينَ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, his coat of mail was held in pledge for thirty saa’ of barley.
Hadith 25999
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , عَنْ مَخْلَدِ بْنِ خُفَافٍ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَضَى أَنَّ الْخَرَاجَ بِالضَّمَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The profit of earnings is associated with the liability of guarantee.
Hadith 26000
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , عَنْ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي , ثُمَّ أَشَارَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ , فَقَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ اسْتَعِيذِي بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذَا , فَإِنَّ هَذَا هُوَ الْغَاسِقُ إِذَا وَقَبَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) held my hand and showed me the moon which was rising, and said: Seek refuge with Allah from the evil of this dark night when it overspreads.
Hadith 26001
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعَبْدِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ : " الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ " , ثُمَّ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ أَنْ تَحْتَجِبَ مِنْهُ لِمَا رَأَى مِنْ شَبَهِهِ بِعُتْبَةَ , فَمَا رَآهَا حَتَّى لَقِيَ اللَّهَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to ‘Abd bin Zam‘ah: “The child belongs to the (owner of the) bed, and for the adulterer is the stone.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the child and noticed a clear resemblance to ‘Utbah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “O Sawdah! Observe veiling from him.” Thus, she did not see him until his death.
Hadith 26002
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ وَقَّاصٍ اللَّيْثِيَّ , قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ ؟ , فَقَالَتْ : " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِيهِمَا وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ , فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ , قَامَ , فَرَكَعَ " .
Alqamah bin Waqas Laithi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) how the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform two rak'ahs while sitting. She replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite (Qur'an) while sitting, but when he intended to bow (ruku'), he would stand up and then perform the bowing.
Hadith 26003
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنَامُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ؟ قَالَتْ : " نَعَمْ , وَلَكِنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَنَامُ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَ فَرْجَهُ , وَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wished to sleep in a state requiring ghusl, he would wash his private parts and perform ablution as for prayer.
Hadith 26004
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " لَقَدْ كَانَ يَأْتِي عَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الشَّهْرُ مَا يُرَى فِي بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِهِ الدُّخَانُ , قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّهْ , فَمَا كَانَ طَعَامُهُمْ ؟ قَالَتْ : " الْأَسْوَدَانِ الْمَاءُ وَالتَّمْرُ , غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَهُ جِيرَانُ صِدْقٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُمْ رَبَائِبُ , فَكَانُوا يَبْعَثُونَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes a whole month would pass over the family of Muhammad (peace be upon him) in such a way that no fire would be lit in any of the houses of the Prophet (peace be upon him), except that a little meat might come from somewhere, and for our sustenance there were only two things, that is, water and dates. However, there were some households of the Ansar living around us—may Allah always reward them with goodness—that used to send goat’s milk daily to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) would drink it.
Hadith 26005
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ " أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ اسْتُحِيضَتْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَأَمَرَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْغُسْلِ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ , فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَتَدْخُلُ الْمِرْكَنَ مَمْلُوءًا مَاءً , فَتَغْتَمِسُ فِيهِ , ثُمَّ تَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ , وَإِنَّ الدَّمَ لَغَالِبُهُ , فَتَخْرُجُ فَتُصَلِّي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Zainab bint Jahsh came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that her menstrual bleeding continued constantly. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "During the days of menstruation, leave the prayers, then after that, perform ghusl (ritual bath) and do wudu (ablution) at the time of every prayer and offer the prayer, even if drops of blood fall on the mat."
Hadith 26006
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " كُنْتُ أُطَيِّبُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ يُحْرِمُ وَحِينَ يَحِلُّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I applied perfume to the Ihram of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with my own two hands when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was entering into Ihram, and I also applied perfume after he became lawful (halal) before performing the Tawaf of Ziyarat.
Hadith 26007
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حُسَيْنٍ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : أُهْدِيَتْ لِحَفْصَةَ شَاةٌ وَنَحْنُ صَائِمَتَانِ , فَأَفْطَرَتْنِي , وَكَانَتْ ابْنَةُ أَبِيهَا , فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لَهُ , فَقَالَ : " أَبْدِلَا يَوْمًا مَكَانَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once a goat was given as a gift to Hazrat Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) from somewhere. Both of us were fasting that day. She made me break my fast with it; she was her father's daughter. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us, we mentioned this to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Both of you should fast on another day in compensation for it.
Hadith 26008
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَ : سَأَلَتْهَا امْرَأَةٌ يَهُودِيَّةٌ فَأَعْطَتْهَا , فَقَالَتْ لَهَا : أَعَاذَكِ اللَّهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ , فَأَنْكَرَتْ عَائِشَةُ ذَلِكَ , فَلَمَّا رَأَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ لَهُ , فَقَالَ : " لَا " قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : ثُمَّ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ : " إِنَّهُ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي قُبُورِكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once a Jewish woman asked her for something, and she gave it to her. The woman said, "May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave." She was surprised at this. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her, she mentioned this to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No." After some time had passed, one day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "Revelation has come to me that you will be tested in the graves."
Hadith 26009
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ : " لَقَدْ فَتَلْتُ قَلَائِدَ هَدْيِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدَيَّ ؟ , فَبَعَثَ بِهَا وَأَقَامَ , فَمَا تَرَكَ شَيْئًا كَانَ يَصْنَعُهُ " .
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I used to twist the collars of the sacrificial animals of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with my own hands, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would send them and would stay among us as a non-Muhrim and would not leave anything (from his usual routine).
Hadith 26010
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِظَبْيَةٍ فِيهَا خَرَزٌ , فَقَسَمَهُ بَيْنَ الْحُرَّةِ وَالْأَمَةِ سَوَاءً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a pouch containing gems was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed those gems among free and slave women, and my father also used to distribute them among slaves and free people.
Hadith 26011
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " مَا سَبَّحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى قَطُّ , وَإِنِّي لَأُسَبِّحُهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never performed the Duha prayer, but I used to perform it.
Hadith 26012
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْحَيَّةُ فَاسِقَةٌ , وَالْعَقْرَبُ فَاسِقَةٌ , وَالْغُرَابُ فَاسِقٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The snake is a disobedient animal, likewise the scorpion, the crow, and the mouse are also disobedient.
Hadith 26013
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى , أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ , عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Gabriel (peace be upon him) continued to advise me to treat the neighbor well, to the extent that I thought he would make him an heir.
Hadith 26014
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ السِّوَاكَ لَمَطْهَرَةٌ لِلْفَمِ مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Miswak is a means of purification of the mouth and the pleasure of the Lord.
Hadith 26015
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ , أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ سُئِلَتْ عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ ؟ فَقَالَتْ " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسِرُّ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِيهِمَا , وَذَكَرَتْ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ و قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ " .
Muhammad says that a person asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the recitation in the Sunnah prayers of Fajr, so she replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite quietly in them, and I think that he used to recite Surah Al-Kafiroon and Surah Al-Ikhlas or similar surahs in them.
Hadith 26016
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ , أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ نَزَلَتْ عَلَى أُمِّ طَلْحَةَ الطَّلْحَاتِ , فَرَأَتْ بَنَاتِهَا يُصَلِّينَ بِغَيْرِ خُمُرٍ , فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي لَأَرَى بَنَاتِكِ قَدْ حِضْنَ أَوْ حَاضَ بَعْضُهُنَّ , قَالَتْ : أَجَلْ , قَالَتْ : فَلَا تُصَلِّيَنَّ جَارِيَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ وَقَدْ حَاضَتْ إِلَّا وَعَلَيْهَا خِمَارٌ , فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ وَعِنْدِي فَتَاةٌ , فَأَلْقَى إِلَيَّ حَقْوَهُ , فَقَالَ : " شُقِّيهِ بَيْنَ هَذِهِ وَبَيْنَ الْفَتَاةِ الَّتِي عِنْدَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , فَإِنِّي لَا أُرَاهُمَا إِلَّا قَدْ حَاضَتَا , أَوْ لَا أُرَاهَا إِلَّا قَدْ حَاضَتْ " .
Muhammad narrates that once Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) stayed at the house of Safiyyah Umm Talhah al-Talhat, and saw that some girls, though having reached puberty, were performing prayer without head coverings. So Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "No girl should pray without a head covering." Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to my house, and at that time there was a girl under my care. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a sheet and said, "Divide it into two parts and distribute it between this girl and the girl under the care of Umm Salamah, because in my opinion, both of them have reached puberty."
Hadith 26017
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " طَيَّبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدَيَّ لِحُرْمِهِ , وَطَيَّبْتُهُ بِمِنًى قَبْلَ أَنْ يُفِيضَ " .

Hadith 26018
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : فَقَدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ , فَخَرَجْتُ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِالْبَقِيعِ رَافِعٌ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ , فَقَالَ لِي : " أَكُنْتِ تَخَافِينَ أَنْ يَحِيفَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ وَرَسُولُهُ ؟ " قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يا رسول الله , ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّكَ أَتَيْتَ بَعْضَ نِسَائِكَ , فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَنْزِلُ لَيْلَةَ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا , فَيَغْفِرُ لِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ عَدَدِ شَعَرِ غَنَمِ كَلْبٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that one night I did not find the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on my bed. I went out and found the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Jannat al-Baqi', raising his head towards the sky and supplicating. When he saw me, he said, "Did you fear that Allah and His Messenger would wrong you?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah! I thought perhaps you had gone to one of your wives." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Allah Almighty descends to the lowest heaven on the fifteenth night of Sha'ban and forgives more people than the number of hairs on the sheep of the tribe of Kalb."
Hadith 26019
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامٌ , عَنْ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِقَدْرِ الْمُدِّ , وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِقَدْرِ الصَّاعِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform ablution with about one mudd of water and would perform ghusl with about one sa’ of water.
Hadith 26020
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ , عَنْ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ مَادَّةٌ , وَإِنَّ مَادَّةَ قُرَيْشٍ مَوَالِيهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Everything has a source, and the source of the Quraysh is their freed slaves."
Hadith 26021
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَحْسَنُوا اسْتَبْشَرُوا , وَإِذَا أَسَاءُوا اسْتَغْفَرُوا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah! Include me among those who, when they do good deeds, are pleased, and if they commit a sin, they seek forgiveness.
Hadith 26022
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ , وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ مَرَّةً : رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا , وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ , وَكَانَ يَقُولُ : نِعْمَ السُّورَتَانِ هُمَا يَقْرَءُونَهُمَا فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ و َقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform four rak'ahs before Zuhr and two rak'ahs before Fajr, and he used to say: "How excellent are these two surahs: 'Say: O disbelievers' and 'Say: He is Allah, the One'," which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite in the two rak'ahs before Fajr.
Hadith 26023
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ , عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " قَدْ خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ , فَلَمْ نَعُدَّهُ طَلَاقًا " , قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ سَقَطَ مِنْ كِتَابِي أَبُو الضُّحَى.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us the choice to stay with him or to choose the world. We chose the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not consider it as any divorce upon us.
Hadith 26024
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ , عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ " كُنْتُ أَفْرُكُ الْمَنِيَّ مِنْ ثَوْبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I used to scrape off the traces of semen from the clothes of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 26025
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ ثَابِتٍ البُنَانِيِّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا الْتَقَى الْخِتَانَانِ وَجَبَ الْغُسْلُ " .
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the private part meets the private part, ghusl becomes obligatory.
Hadith 26026
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ , عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ لِي جَارَيْنِ , فَإِلَى أَيِّهِمَا أُهْدِي ؟ , قَالَ : " إِلَى أَقْرَبِهِمَا مِنْكِ بَابًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "If I have two neighbors, to whom should I send a gift?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "To the one whose door is closer to you."
Hadith 26027
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ , عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ , قَالَ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ , فَذَكَرُوا الرَّجُلَ يَجْلِسُ عَلَى الْخَلَاءِ فَيَسْتَقْبِلُ الْقِبْلَةَ , فَكَرِهُوا ذَلِكَ , فَحَدَّثَ عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّ ذَلِكَ ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " أَوَقَدْ فَعَلُوهَا ؟ حَوِّلِي مَقْعَدِي إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once it was mentioned before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that some people dislike turning their private parts towards the Qiblah. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do they do so?" Turn the direction of my sitting place in the toilet towards the Qiblah.
Hadith 26028
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ , عَنْ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى , عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْمَاهِرُ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَعَ السَّفَرَةِ الْكِرَامِ الْبَرَرَةِ , وَالَّذِي يَقْرَؤُهُ وَهُوَ يَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِ لَهُ أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever recites the Noble Qur'an with proficiency will be with the righteous and honorable angels, and whoever recites it with difficulty and endures hardship will have a double reward.
Hadith 26029
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ رُومَانَ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا : " يَا عَائِشَةُ , لَوْلَا أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ لَأَمَرْتُ بِالْبَيْتِ فَهُدِمَ , فَأَدْخَلْتُ فِيهِ مَا أُخْرِجَ مِنْهُ , وَأَلْزَقْتُهُ بِالْأَرْضِ , وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ بَابَيْنِ بَابًا شَرْقِيًّا , وَبَابًا غَرْبِيًّا , فَإِنَّهُمْ عَجَزُوا عَنْ بِنَائِهِ , فَبَلَغْتُ بِهِ أَسَاسَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If your people were not close to the time of disbelief, I would demolish the Kaaba and rebuild it on the foundations of Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him), because when the Quraysh built it, they left out a part of it. And I would join it with the ground and make two doors for it, one on the east and one on the west.
Hadith 26030
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ , وَهِيَ أَنْجَالٌ وَغَرْقَدٌ , فَاشْتَكَى آلُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ , فَاسْتَأْذَنْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي عِيَادَةِ أَبِي , فَأَذِنَ لِي , فَأَتَيْتُهُ , فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَبَتِ , كَيْفَ تَجِدُكَ ؟ قَالَ : كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مُصَبَّحٌ فِي أَهْلِهِ , وَالْمَوْتُ أَدْنَى مِنْ شِرَاكِ نَعْلِهِ , قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : هَجَرَ وَاللَّهِ أَبِي , ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ عَامِرَ بْنَ فُهَيْرَةَ , فَقُلْتُ : أَيْ عَامِرُ , كَيْفَ تَجِدُكَ ؟ قَالَ : إِنِّي وَجَدْتُ الْمَوْتَ قَبْلَ ذَوْقِهِ , إِنَّ الْجَبَانَ حَتْفُهُ مِنْ فُوقِهِ , قَالَتْ : فَأَتَيْتُ بِلَالًا , فَقُلْتُ : يَا بِلَالُ , كَيْفَ تَجِدُكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : أَلَا لَيْتَ شِعْرِي هَلْ أَبِيتَنَّ لَيْلَةً , بِفَخٍّ وَحَوْلِي إِذْخِرٌ وَجَلِيلُ , قَالَ : فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ , قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي صَاعِنَا , وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مُدِّنَا , وَحَبِّبْ إِلَيْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ , كَمَا حَبَّبْتَ إِلَيْنَا مَكَّةَ , وَانْقُلْ وَبَاءَهَا إِلَى خُمٍّ ، وَمَهْيَعَةَ " .
Narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) became ill. Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), his freed slave Amir bin Fuhairah, and Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) also became ill. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to visit them for inquiry, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted her permission. She asked Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) how he was feeling, and he recited this verse: "Every person wakes up among his family while death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal." Then I asked Amir, and he recited this verse: "I feel death before tasting its bitterness, and the graveyard has come close to my mouth." Then I asked Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) about his condition, and he recited this verse: "Alas! Who knows if I will ever spend a night again in Fakh, with 'Idhkhir' and 'Jaleel' grass around me." Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) went to the court of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him of their words. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards the sky and said: "O Allah! Make Madinah beloved to us as You made Makkah beloved, or even more so, even more so. O Allah! Bless the sa’ and the mudd of Madinah, and transfer its disease to Hajfah."
Hadith 26031
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ مُوسَى , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيُّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ بَابَنُوسَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الدَّوَاوِينُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ثَلَاثَةٌ دِيوَانٌ لَا يَعْبَأُ اللَّهُ بِهِ شَيْئًا , وَدِيوَانٌ لَا يَتْرُكُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا , وَدِيوَانٌ لَا يَغْفِرُهُ اللَّهُ , فَأَمَّا الدِّيوَانُ الَّذِي لَا يَغْفِرُهُ اللَّهُ فَالشِّرْكُ بِاللَّهِ , قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِنَّهُ مَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ سورة المائدة آية 72 وَأَمَّا الدِّيوَانُ الَّذِي لَا يَعْبَأُ اللَّهُ بِهِ شَيْئًا فَظُلْمُ الْعَبْدِ نَفْسَهُ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ رَبِّهِ مِنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمٍ تَرَكَهُ أَوْ صَلَاةٍ تَرَكَهَا , فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَغْفِرُ ذَلِكَ وَيَتَجَاوَزُ إِنْ شَاءَ , وَأَمَّا الدِّيوَانُ الَّذِي لَا يَتْرُكُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا فَظُلْمُ الْعِبَادِ بَعْضِهِمْ بَعْضًا , الْقِصَاصُ لَا مَحَالَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There will be three types of registers with Allah Almighty. One type of register will be such that Allah will not care about them, one type of register will be such that Allah will not leave anything from them, and one type of register will be such that Allah will never forgive them. The registers that Allah will never forgive are associating partners with Allah. Allah Almighty has said: "Whoever associates partners with Allah, Allah makes Paradise forbidden for him." And the registers from which Allah will not leave anything are the injustices that people do to one another, for which recompense will definitely be taken.
Hadith 26032
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " لَمَّا مَرِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَعَا ابْنَتَهُ فَاطِمَةَ فَسَارَّهَا ، فَبَكَتْ , ثُمَّ سَارَّهَا ، فَضَحِكَتْ , فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : أَمَّا حَيْثُ بَكَيْتُ , فَإِنَّهُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَيِّتٌ فَبَكَيْتُ , ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنِّي أَوَّلُ أَهْلِهِ لُحُوقًا بِهِ , فَضَحِكْتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called his daughter Hazrat Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her), and began to speak to her in a whisper. During this, Hazrat Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her) began to weep. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) whispered to her again, and she began to laugh. Later, I asked Hazrat Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her), "What did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) whisper to you that made you weep, and then what did he whisper again that made you laugh?" She replied, "The first time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) whispered to me, he informed me of his impending death, so I began to weep. When he whispered to me again, he told me that among his family, I would be the first to join him, so I began to laugh."
Hadith 26033
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي , عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَا مَا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ , فَهُوَ رَدٌّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever invents something in our way other than this way of ours, it is rejected.
Hadith 26034
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , عَنْ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ ، قَالَ : دَخَلَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ , فَأَخْبَرَاهَا ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " الطِّيَرَةُ مِنَ الدَّارِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالْفَرَسِ " , فَغَضِبَتْ , فَطَارَتْ شِقَّةٌ مِنْهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ , وَشِقَّةٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ , وَقَالَتْ : وَالَّذِي أَنْزَلَ الْفُرْقَانَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ , مَا قَالَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطُّ , إِنَّمَا قَالَ : " كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَتَطَيَّرُونَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ " .
Abu Hassan says that a man informed Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates a hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Omen is found in a woman, a house, and a riding animal." She became very angry. Then the man said that a part of it flies towards the sky and a part remains on the earth. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The people of ignorance used to take bad omens from this (Islam has declared such things to be baseless)."
Hadith 26035
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْدٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَالِمٍ الرَّاسِبِيَّةِ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ , لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
Hadith 26036
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ , عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " قَدْ خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ , أَفَكَانَ طَلَاقًا ؟ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us the choice to stay with him or to choose the world. We chose the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not consider it as any divorce upon us.
Hadith 26037
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , عَنْ عَطَاءٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رَأَى مَخِيلَةً يَعْنِي الْغَيْمَ , تَلَوَّنَ وَجْهُهُ , وَتَغَيَّرَ , وَدَخَلَ , وَخَرَجَ , وَأَقْبَلَ , وَأَدْبَرَ , فَإِذَا مَطَرَتْ سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ , قَالَتْ : فَذَكَرَتْ لَهُ عَائِشَةُ بَعْضَ مَا رَأَتْ مِنْهُ , فَقَالَ : " وَمَا يُدْرِينِي لَعَلَّهُ كَمَا قَالَ قَوْمُ عَادٍ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُمْطِرُنَا بَلْ هُوَ مَا اسْتَعْجَلْتُمْ بِهِ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ سورة الأحقاف آية 24 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when clouds or a storm would come, signs of concern would appear on the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he would move inside and outside, forward and backward. When it would rain, this state of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would end. Once she said, "O Messenger of Allah! People become happy when they see clouds and hope that it will rain, but I see that when you see clouds, signs of concern appear on your face?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Aisha! I do not feel secure that there might not be punishment in it, because before this, a people were punished with a windstorm. When those people saw the punishment, they thought it was a cloud and said, 'This cloud will bring us rain,' but there was punishment in it."
