Hadith 24330
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتَ طَلْحَةَ تَذْكُرُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ جَالِسًا كَاشِفًا عَنْ فَخِذِهِ ، فَاسْتَأْذَنَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى حَالِهِ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَأْذَنَ عُمَرُ ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى حَالِهِ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَأْذَنَ عُثْمَانُ ، فَأَرْخَى عَلَيْهِ ثِيَابَهُ ، فَلَمَّا قَامُوا ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَيْكَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ ، فَأَذِنْتَ لَهُمَا وَأَنْتَ عَلَى حَالِكَ ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَأْذَنَ عُثْمَانُ ، أَرْخَيْتَ عَلَيْكَ ثِيَابَكَ ! فَقَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ، أَلَا أَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ رَجُلٍ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَسْتَحْيِي مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in such a way that the cloth had slipped from his blessed thigh. In the meantime, Hazrat Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission to enter. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission and remained seated in the same state. Then Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission to enter; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission and remained seated in the same state. Then Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission to enter; so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) covered himself with the cloth. When they had left, I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Abu Bakr and Umar sought permission and you granted them permission and remained seated in the same state, but when Uthman sought permission, you covered yourself with the cloth?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Aisha! Should I not show modesty before the one before whom even the angels show modesty, by Allah?"
Hadith 24331
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْمَكِّيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْعُسَيْلَةُ هِيَ الْجِمَاعُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By "Asilah" (honey) is meant intercourse.
Hadith 24332
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْكِلَابِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " السِّوَاكُ مَطْهَرَةٌ لِلْفَمِ ، مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّه بْنِ أَحمَّد عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : أَبُو عَتِيقٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Miswak is a means of purification of the mouth and the pleasure of the Lord.
Hadith 24333
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " مَا عَلِمْنَا بِدَفْنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ صَوْتَ الْمَسَاحِي مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ لَيْلَةَ الْأَرْبِعَاءِ " ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : وَالْمَسَاحِي الْمُرُورُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that we women did not know where the burial of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would take place, until after the night of Tuesday had begun, in the last part of the night, we heard the sounds of people passing by.
Hadith 24334
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صَوْمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَتْ : " مَا عَلِمْتُهُ صَامَ شَهْرًا حَتَّى يُفْطِرَ مِنْهُ ، وَلَا أَفْطَرَهُ حَتَّى يَصُومَ مِنْهُ ، حَتَّى مَضَى لِسَبِيلِهِ " .
Abdullah bin Shaqiq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the voluntary fasts of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so she replied that I do not know of any month in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fasted continuously without missing a day, or if he missed fasting, then he did not fast at all, until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from this world.
Hadith 24335
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ آيَةً فَقَالَ : " رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ ، لَقَدْ أَذْكَرَنِي آيَةً كُنْتُ نُسِّيتُهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man reciting a verse of the Noble Qur'an, so he said: "May Allah have mercy on him, he reminded me of such-and-such verse which I had forgotten."
Hadith 24336
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَرِّدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُومَانَ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الرَّحِمُ ، مَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ ، وَمَنْ قَطَعَهَا قَطَعَهُ اللَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever maintains ties of kinship, Allah maintains ties with him, and whoever severs ties of kinship, Allah severs ties with him.
Hadith 24337
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَهِيِّ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ رَفَقَ بِأُمَّتِي ، فَارْفُقْ بِهِ ، وَمَنْ شَقَّ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَشُقَّ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Whoever is gentle with my Ummah, be gentle with him, and whoever is harsh with them, be harsh with him.
Hadith 24338
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا سَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ ، أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would finish the prayer with salam, he used to say: O Allah! You are the Source of peace, and from You comes peace. O Possessor of majesty and honor! You are very blessed.
Hadith 24339
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " كَانَ النَّاسُ عُمَّالَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ ، فَكَانُوا يَرُوحُونَ كَهَيْئَتِهِمْ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُمْ لَوْ اغْتَسَلْتُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that people used to do their work with their own hands and would come for Jumu'ah in that state, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: If only you would perform ghusl (ritual bath).
Hadith 24340
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَدَعُ أَرْبَعًا قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ ، عَلَى حَالٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never omitted four rak'ahs before Zuhr and two rak'ahs before Fajr under any circumstances.
Hadith 24341
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ تَكُونُ لَهُ سَاعَةٌ مِنَ اللَّيْلٍ يَقُومُهَا ، فَيَنَامُ عَنْهَا إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُ أَجْرُ صَلَاتِهِ ، وَكَانَ نَوْمُهُ عَلَيْهِ صَدَقَةً تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever gets up to pray at any part of the night and then falls asleep, the reward for the prayer is written for him, and his sleep is also considered charity for which he is rewarded.
Hadith 24342
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، وأبي ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّيْلِ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : " يَنَامُ أَوَّلَهُ وَيَقُومُ آخِرَهُ " .
Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the Tahajjud prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so she replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to sleep in the early part of the night and stand (in prayer) in the last part of the night.
Hadith 24343
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أَبْغَضَ الرِّجَالِ إِلَى اللَّهِ الْأَلَدُّ الْخَصِمُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The most detested person in the sight of Allah is the one who is extremely quarrelsome.
Hadith 24344
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْخَطْمِيِّ ، عَنْ مَوْلى لِعَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " مَا نَظَرْتُ إِلَى فَرْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطُّ ، أَوْ مَا رَأَيْتُ فَرْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطُّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I never looked at the private part of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 24345
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، وَسُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَسْتَرْقِيَ مِنَ الْعَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the use of ruqyah (incantation) for the evil eye.
Hadith 24346
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعُمَيْسِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَلَمْ يَسْتَخْلِفْ أَحَدًا ، وَلَوْ كَانَ مُسْتَخْلِفًا أَحَدًا ، لَاسْتَخْلَفَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ ، أَوْ عُمَرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away in such a state that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had not explicitly appointed anyone as his successor. If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had done so, he would have appointed either Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) or Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) as his successor.
Hadith 24347
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : لَبِثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِتَّةَ أَشْهُرٍ يَرَى أَنَّهُ يَأْتِي وَلَا يَأْتِي ، فَأَتَاهُ مَلَكَانِ ، فَجَلَسَ أَحَدُهُمَا عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ ، وَالْآخَرُ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِلْآخَرِ : مَا بَالُهُ ؟ قَالَ : مَطْبُوبٌ ، قَالَ : مَنْ طَبَّهُ ؟ قَالَ : لَبِيدُ بْنُ الْأَعْصَمِ ، قَالَ : فِيمَ ؟ قَالَ : فِي مُشْطٍ وَمُشَاطَةٍ فِي جُفِّ طَلْعَةِ ذَكَرٍ فِي بِئْرِ ذَرْوَانَ تَحْتَ رعُوفَةٍ ، فَاسْتَيْقَظَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيْ عَائِشَةُ ، أَلَمْ تَرَيْنَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَفْتَانِي فِيمَ اسْتَفْتَيْتُهُ " ، فَأَتَى الْبِئْرَ ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ ، فَأُخْرِجَ ، فَقَالَ : " هَذِهِ الْبِئْرُ الَّتِي أُرِيتُهَا ، وَاللَّهِ كَأَنَّ مَاءَهَا نُقَاعَةُ الْحِنَّاءِ ، وَكَأَنَّ رُؤوسَ نَخْلِهَا رُؤوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ " ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : لَوْ أَنَّكَ ؟ كَأَنَّهَا تَعْنِي أَنْ يَنْتَشِرَ ، قَالَ : " أَمَا وَاللَّهِ قَدْ عَافَانِي اللَّهُ ، وَأَنَا أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُثِيرَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْهُ شَرًّا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a Jew from Banu Zuraiq, whose name was Labeed bin A'sam, cast magic upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as a result of which for six months the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would think that he had done a certain thing, although he had not done it. One day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for a long time, then said, "Aisha! Whatever I asked Allah, He has informed me about it. Two men came to me; one sat by my head and the other by my feet. Then the one sitting by my head said to the one sitting by my feet, or vice versa, 'What is the ailment of this man?' The other replied, 'He has been bewitched.' He asked, 'Who has done the magic?' The other replied, 'Labeed bin A'sam.' He asked, 'In what things was the magic done?' The other replied, 'In a comb and the hair that falls from it, and in the husk of a male date palm.' He asked, 'Where are these things now?' The other replied, 'In the well named "Aruwan".' After seeing this dream, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to that well with some of his companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and after returning, he told Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), 'O Aisha! The water of that well looked as if it was the color of henna, and the trees near it looked like the heads of devils.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Why did you not set it on fire?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'No, Allah has granted me well-being, and now I do not like to spread evil and discord among the people.' Thus, on the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), all those things were buried.

حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : سُحِرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أَنَّهُ لَيُخَيَّلُ لَهُ أَنَّهُ يَفْعَلُ الشَّيْءَ وَمَا يَفْعَلُهُ ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَهُوَ عِنْدَهَا دَعَا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَدَعَاهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَشَعَرْتِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَفْتَانِي فِيمَا اسْتَفْتَيْتُهُ فِيهِ " ، قُلْتُ : وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " جَاءَنِي رَجُلَانِ ، فَجَلَسَ أَحَدُهُمَا عِنْدَ رَأْسِي ، وَالْآخَرُ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيَّ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ : مَا وَجَعُ الرَّجُلِ ؟ قَالَ : مَطْبُوبٌ ، قَالَ : مَنْ طَبَّهُ ؟ قَالَ : لَبِيدُ بْنُ الْأَعْصَمِ الْيَهُودِيُّ ، قَالَ : فِي مَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : فِي مُشْطٍ وَمُشَاطَةٍ وَجُفِّ طَلْعَةِ ذَكَرٍ ، قَالَ : فَأَيْنَ هُوَ ؟ قَالَ : فِي بِئْرِ ذَرْوَانَ " ، فَذَهَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْبِئْرِ ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا وَعَلَيْهَا نَخْلٌ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ ، فَقَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ لَكَأَنَّ مَاءَهَا نُقَاعَةُ الْحِنَّاءِ ، وَلَكَأَنَّ نَخْلَهَا رُؤوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ " ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَأَحْرِقْهُ ، قَالَ : " لَا ، أَمَّا أَنَا فَقَدْ عَافَانِي اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَخَشِيتُ أَنْ أُثَوِّرَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْهُ شَرًّا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a Jew from Banu Zuraiq, whose name was Labeed bin A'sam, cast magic on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as a result of which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would think that he had done a certain thing, although he had not done it. One day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for a long time, then said, "Aisha! Whatever I asked Allah, He has informed me about it. Two men came to me; one sat by my head and the other by my feet. Then the one sitting by my head said to the one sitting by my feet, or vice versa, 'What is the ailment of this man?' The other replied, 'He has been bewitched.' He asked, 'Who has done this magic?' The other replied, 'Labeed bin A'sam.' He asked, 'In what things was the magic done?' The other replied, 'In a comb and the hair that falls from it, and in the cover of a male date palm's cluster.' He asked, 'Where are these things now?' The other replied, 'In the well named "Aruwan".' After seeing this dream, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to that well with some of his companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and after returning, he told Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), 'O Aisha! The water of that well looked as if it was the color of henna, and the trees near it looked like the heads of devils.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Why did you not set it on fire?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'No, Allah has granted me well-being, and now I do not like to spread evil and discord among the people.' Thus, at the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), all those things were buried.
Hadith 24349
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " كُنْتُ أَغْتَسِلُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl of janabah from the same vessel of water.
Hadith 24350
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْطِينِي الْعَرْقَ فَأَتَعَرَّقُهُ ، ثُمَّ يَأْخُذُهُ فَيَضَعُ فَاهُ عَلَى مَوْضِعِ فِيَّ ، وَيُعْطِينِي الْإِنَاءَ فَأَشْرَبُ ، ثُمَّ يَأْخُذُهُ فَيَضَعُ فَاهُ عَلَى مَوْضِعِ فِيَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes a vessel would be presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I would be in my menstrual period and would drink from it, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would take it and place his mouth at the same spot where I had placed my mouth and drunk from. In the same way, I would take a bone and eat its meat, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would take it and place his mouth at the same spot where I had placed my mouth and eaten from.
Hadith 24351
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ ، وَبِالصَّفَا وَالمَرْوَةِ ، وَرَمْيُ الْجِمَارِ ، لِإِقَامَةِ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The command for the Tawaf of the House of Allah, the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and the stoning of the Jamarat has been given only so that the remembrance of Allah Almighty may be established.
Hadith 24352
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ ، عَنْ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ " أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فَرُوحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ ، بِرَفْعِ الرَّاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting this verse "Furoohun wa Rayhaan" with the dhammah on the letter "raa".
Hadith 24353
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ وَهُوَ يُخَاصِمُ فِي أَرْضٍ ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : يَا أَبَا سَلَمَةَ ، اجْتَنِبْ الْأَرْضَ ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ ظَلَمَ قِيدَ شِبْرٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ ، طُوِّقَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ " .
It is narrated from Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he came to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) with a dispute over a piece of land. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to him: O Abu Salamah! Leave the land, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever unjustly takes even a span of land from someone, Allah Almighty will put around his neck on the Day of Resurrection a collar of that portion of seven earths.
Hadith 24354
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : " مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّهُ لَبَيْنَ حَاقِنَتِي وَذَاقِنَتِي ، فَلَا أَكْرَهُ شِدَّةَ الْمَوْتِ لِأَحَدٍ أَبَدًا بَعْدَ مَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that at the time when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away, he was between my chest and chin, and after seeing the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I will never dislike seeing the severity of death upon anyone.
Hadith 24355
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يُدْرِكُ بِحُسْنِ خُلُقِهِ دَرَجَاتِ قَائِمِ اللَّيْلِ ، صَائِمِ النَّهَارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: A believer, because of his good character, attains the ranks of those who stand in prayer at night and fast during the day.
Hadith 24356
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَرْجِسَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَمُوتُ ، وَعِنْدَهُ قَدَحٌ فِيهِ مَاءٌ ، فَيُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ فِي الْقَدَحِ ، ثُمَّ يَمْسَحُ وَجْهَهُ بِالْمَاءِ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that at the time of agony, I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that a bowl of water was placed near him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept putting his hand into that bowl and kept wiping it over his face, and kept supplicating: "O Allah! Help me in the agonies of death."
Hadith 24357
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِخَمْسِ سَجَدَاتٍ لَا يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَهُنَّ حَتَّى يَجْلِسَ فِي الْخَامِسَةِ ، ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform Witr on the fifth unit at night, he would not sit in between, and he would say salam while sitting on that (fifth unit).
Hadith 24358
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الطَّاعُونِ ، فَأَخْبَرَهَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابًا يَبْعَثُهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَاءُ ، فَجَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ رَحْمَةً لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، فَلَيْسَ مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقَعُ الطَّاعُونُ فِيهِ ، فَيَمْكُثُ فِي بَلَدِهِ صَابِرًا مُحْتَسِبًا يَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُصِبْهُ إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ ، إِلَّا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ الشَّهِيدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about "plague." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told her that it was a punishment which Allah used to send upon whomsoever He willed, but for the Muslims of this Ummah, Allah has made it a mercy. Now, whoever is afflicted with the disease of plague and remains in that city with the intention of reward, patiently enduring, and is certain that only that calamity will befall him which Allah has written for him, then he will receive the reward equal to that of a martyr.
Hadith 24359
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الصَّائِغِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى وَهِيَ مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ : " أَلَيْسَ هُنَّ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ وَأَخَوَاتِكُمْ وَعَمَّاتِكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to be praying and she would be lying down in front of him across his path, and he used to say: "The women in front of whom you pray, are they not your mothers, sisters, and paternal aunts?"
Hadith 24360
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت : لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، اشْتَكَى أَصْحَابُهُ ، وَاشْتَكَى أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعَامِرُ بْنُ فُهَيْرَةَ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَبِلَالٌ ، فَاسْتَأْذَنَتْ عَائِشَةُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي عِيَادَتِهِمْ ، فَأَذِنَ لَهَا ، فَقَالَتْ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ : كَيْفَ تَجِدُكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مُصَبَّحٌ فِي أَهْلِهِ ، وَالْمَوْتُ أَدْنَى مِنْ شِرَاكِ نَعْلِهِ ، وَسَأَلَتْ عَامِرًا ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي وَجَدْتُ الْمَوْتَ قَبْلَ ذَوْقِهِ ، إِنَّ الْجَبَانَ حَتْفُهُ مِنْ فَوْقِهِ ، وَسَأَلَتْ بِلَالًا ، فَقَالَ : يَا لَيْتَ شِعْرِي هَلْ أَبِيتَنَّ لَيْلَةً بفَخًًًّ وَحَوْلِي إِذْخِرٌ وَجَلِيلُ ، فَأَتَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ بِقَوْلِهِمْ ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ، وَقَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ ، كَمَا حَبَّبْتَ إِلَيْنَا مَكَّةَ ، أو َأَشَدَّ ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي صَاعِهَا ، وَفِي مُدِّهَا ، وَانْقُلْ وَبَاءَهَا إِلَى مَهْيَعَةَ " ، وَهِيَ الْجُحْفَةُ كَمَا زَعَمُوا.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) became ill. Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), his freed slave Amir bin Fuhairah, and Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) also became ill. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) sought permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to visit them for inquiry, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted her permission. She asked Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) how he was feeling, and he recited this verse: "A person wakes up among his family while death is closer to him than the strap of his sandal." Then I asked Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), and he recited this verse: "I feel death before tasting its bitterness, and the graveyard has come close to my mouth." Then I asked Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) about his condition, and he recited this verse: "Alas! Who knows if I will ever spend a night again in Fakh, and around me will be the grasses called Idhkhir and Jalil." Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) went to the court of Prophethood and informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of their words. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards the sky and said: O Allah! Make Madinah Munawwarah as beloved to us as You made Makkah, or even more so, even more so. O Allah! Bless the sa’ and the mudd of Madinah, and transfer its disease to Hajfah.
Hadith 24361
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَمَار بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَتْهُ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ حَدَّثَتْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا زَنَتْ الْأَمَةُ فَاجْلِدُوهَا ، وَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا ، وَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا ، ثُمَّ بِيعُوهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ " ، وَالضَّفِيرُ الْحَبْلُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If any of you has a slave-girl who commits adultery and her crime is proven, then give her the punishment of lashes. Then, if she commits the same sin a third or fourth time, he said: Sell her, even if you receive only a rope made of hair as her price.
Hadith 24362
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُكَبِّرُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ سَبْعًا وَخَمْسًا قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say seven and five takbeers before the recitation in the Eid prayers.
Hadith 24363
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، تَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ ، وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ ، فَأَرْشَدَ اللَّهُ الْإِمَامَ ، وَعَفَا عَنِ الْمُؤَذِّنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The imam is responsible and the muezzin is trustworthy, therefore may Allah guide the imam and forgive the muezzin.
Hadith 24364
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْن الزُّبَيْر ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : طَرَقَتْنِي الْحَيْضَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا إِلَى جَنْبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَتَأَخَّرْتُ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا لَكِ أَنُفِسْتِ ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : لَا ، وَلَكِنِّي حِضْتُ ، قَالَ : " فَشُدِّي عَلَيْكِ إِزَارَكِ ، ثُمَّ عُودِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once, during the night, my menstruation suddenly started while I was lying beside the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So I moved away. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What happened? Have your days of nifas (postnatal bleeding) started?" She replied, "No, rather my days of menstruation have started." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Wrap your lower garment well and then come back."
Hadith 24365
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقَيْلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَهَرَ فِيهَا بِالْقِرَاءَةِ " ، يَعْنِي فِي الْكُسُوفِ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited aloud in the prayer of eclipse.
Hadith 24366
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " اجْعَلُوا مِنْ صَلَاتِكُمْ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ ، وَلَا تَجْعَلُوهَا عَلَيْكُمْ قُبُورًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "Reserve a portion of your prayers for your homes as well, and do not make them like graveyards for yourselves."
Hadith 24367
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ خَدِيجَةَ سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ وَرَقَةَ بْنِ نَوْفَل ؟ فَقَالَ : " قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي الْمَنَامِ ، فَرَأَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ ثِيَابُ بَيَاضٍ ، فَأَحْسِبُهُ لَوْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلَيْهِ ثِيَابَ بَيَاضٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Hazrat Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the fate of Waraqah bin Nawfal. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw him in a dream wearing white clothes, so I think that if he were among the people of Hell, he would not be wearing white clothes.
Hadith 24368
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو ، أَنَّ بَكْرَ بْنَ سَوَادَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ مَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا يُجْزَ بِهِ سورة النساء آية 123 ، قَالَ : إِنَّا لَنُجْزَى بِكُلِّ عَمَلِنَا ؟ ! هَلَكْنَا إِذًا ، فَبَلَغَ ذَاكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، يُجْزَى بِهِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فِي مُصِيبَةٍ فِي جَسَدِهِ فِيمَا يُؤْذِيهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a man recited this verse: "Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it," so he said, "If we are to be recompensed for our deeds, then we will be destroyed." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of this, he said, "Yes! However, a believer is recompensed for it in this world itself in the form of physical pain and hardship."
Hadith 24369
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، وَمُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرٌو ، أَنَّ أَبَا النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطُّ مُسْتَجْمِعًا ضَاحِكًا ، قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ : ضَحِكًا ، حَتَّى أَرَى مِنْهُ لَهَوَاتِهِ ، إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَتَبَسَّمُ ، وَقَالَتْ : كَانَ إِذَا رَأَى غَيْمًا ، أَوْ رِيحًا ، عُرِفَ ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، النَّاسُ إِذَا رَأَوْا الْغَيْمَ ، فَرِحُوا رَجَاءَ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِيهِ الْمَطَرُ ، وَأَرَاكَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُ عَرَفْتُ فِي وَجْهِكَ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ ! قَالَتْ : فَقَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ، مَا يُؤْمِنِّي أَنْ يَكُونَ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ ، قَدْ عُذِّبَ قَوْمٌ بِالرِّيحِ ، وَقَدْ رَأَى قَوْمٌ الْعَذَابَ ، فَقَالُوا : هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُمْطِرُنَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughing in such a way that his mouth opened and the uvula of his throat became visible; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would only smile. And when clouds or wind appeared, signs of concern would be visible on the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Once she said, "O Messenger of Allah! People become happy when they see clouds and they hope that now it will rain, but I see that when you see clouds, signs of concern appear on your face?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Aisha! I do not feel secure that there might not be punishment in it, because before this, a people were punished with a windstorm. When those people saw the punishment, they thought it was a cloud and said, 'This cloud will bring us rain.'"
