It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey for jihad. Whenever we ascended a hill or a high place or descended into a valley, we would say Takbeer in a loud voice. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came close to us and said, "People! Be gentle with yourselves. You are not calling upon a deaf or absent Allah; you are calling upon the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, who is closer to you than the neck of your mount. O Abdullah bin Qais, shall I not tell you about one of the treasures of Paradise?" I said, "Why not?" He said, "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah) is one of the treasures of Paradise."

Abu Ali says that once Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed us in a sermon and said: "O people! Beware of this shirk (associating partners with Allah), for its creeping is lighter than the creeping of an ant." Upon hearing this, Abdullah bin Hazn and Qais bin Muzarib stood up and said: "By Allah! Either you will provide a reference for your statement, or we will go to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), whether we are permitted or not." He said: "I will give you its reference. One day, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us in a sermon and said: 'O people! Beware of this shirk, for its creeping is lighter than the creeping of an ant.' Someone asked: 'O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), when its creeping is lighter than the creeping of an ant, then how can we protect ourselves from it?' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Keep saying: O Allah! We seek refuge in You from knowingly associating anything with You, and we seek Your forgiveness for what we do not know.'"

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), there were two kinds of protection, one of which has been lifted and the other remains: (1) Allah Almighty would not punish them while you are present among them; (2) Allah will not punish them as long as they continue to seek forgiveness.
Hadith 19608
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I said to one of my companions, "Come, let us devote this day to Allah." It seemed to me as if the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was present before us and saying, "There are some people who say, 'Come! Let us devote this day to Allah,'" and he repeated this statement so many times that I began to wish I would sink into the earth.

" مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمَيْنِ الْتَقَيَا بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا ، فَقَتَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا الْآخَرَ ، إِلَّا دَخَلَا جَمِيعًا النَّارَ " .
Khwaja Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) had a brother who used to take an active part in acts of discord. He (Abu Musa) would forbid him, but he would not desist. He would say to him: "If I thought that even a little advice would be enough for you, which in my opinion is less than this (I would still advise you)." And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When two Muslims come face to face with swords and one of them kills the other, then both the killer and the killed will go to Hell."
Hadith 19610
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: All fingers are equal (with regard to blood money), that is, the blood money for each finger is ten camels.

It is narrated from Ubaid bin Umair (may Allah have mercy on him) that once Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) greeted Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) three times, but did not receive permission, so he turned back. After a short while, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Did I not just hear the voice of Abdullah bin Qais?" The people said, "Yes, you did." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a messenger after him asking, "Why did you leave?" He replied, "I sought permission three times, and when I was not granted permission, I left. We have been commanded to do so." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Present a witness for this, otherwise I will punish you." Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) went to a gathering of the Ansar. They said, "Even the youngest among us can testify to this." So Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) went with him and testified to it, upon which Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) let him go.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the Muslim who recites the Noble Qur'an is like that of the citron, whose taste is good and whose fragrance is good. The example of the Muslim who does not recite the Qur'an is like that of the date, whose taste is good but it has no fragrance. The example of the sinner who recites the Qur'an is like that of the basil, whose taste is bitter but its fragrance is good. And the example of the wicked person who does not recite the Qur'an is like that of the colocynth, whose taste is bitter and it has no fragrance. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to keep watch at his place. Once, I woke up at night and did not find the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his sleeping quarters. Various fears and doubts began to arise in my mind. I went out in search of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and met Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him); he was in the same state as I was. We heard a sound like that of a grinding mill and stopped in our tracks. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was coming from the direction of that sound. When he came near, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you know where I was and in what condition I was?" A messenger from my Lord came to me and gave me the choice between two things: that half of my Ummah would enter Paradise, or that I would be granted the right of intercession. So I preferred the aspect of intercession. Both of them said, "O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He includes us in your intercession." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You and every person who dies in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Allah will be included in my intercession."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I, along with a group of Ash'aris, presented ourselves before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). We requested animals for riding from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Allah! I cannot provide you with mounts, for I do not have anything to mount you on." We stayed there for a while, as long as Allah willed, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered for three camels with bright foreheads to be given to us. When we were about to leave, one of us said to the other, "We came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) requesting mounts, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) swore an oath that he would not give us mounts. Let us go back and remind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of his oath." So we again presented ourselves before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! We came to you requesting mounts, and you swore an oath that you would not give us mounts, yet you have given us animals?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I did not provide you with mounts, rather Allah did. By Allah! If Allah wills, whenever I take an oath and then see something better, I will choose that which is better and offer expiation for my oath."

Abu Burdah (may Allah have mercy on him) once said to his children, "My children! Shall I not narrate to you a hadith?" And the example of a bad companion is like that of a blacksmith’s furnace: even if it does not burn you, its heat and flames will still reach you. And a trustworthy treasurer is one who, when he is instructed regarding something, fulfills it completely, perfectly, and with happiness of heart, so that what the donors have ordered to be given reaches those for whom it is intended.

When he bows (for ruku'), you also bow; when he raises his head, you also raise your heads. When he says "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," you say "Rabbana lakal hamd," Allah will surely listen to you. So I brought her mount near a tree and helped her dismount, then came and sat with the people. He said, "Shall I not narrate to you a hadith that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to narrate to us?" We said, "Why not? May Allah's mercy descend upon you." He said, "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to tell us that before the Hour, 'Harj' will occur." The people asked, "What is meant by 'Harj'?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Killing." The people asked, "Even more than the number we kill? We used to kill more than seventy thousand people every year!" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It does not mean killing the polytheists, rather it means killing one another, to the extent that a man will kill his neighbor, his uncle, his brother, and his cousin." The people asked, "Will our intellects be with us at that time?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The intellects of the people of that time will be taken away, and foolish people will remain who will think they are upon a religion, but they will not be upon any religion." Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) says, "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if that time comes, I will not find any way out for myself or for you except that we leave it as we entered it, and do not become involved in anyone's killing or wealth."
