(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ الدُّهْنِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ابْنُ سُمَيَّةَ مَا عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرَانِ قَطُّ ، إِلَّا اخْتَارَ الْأَرْشَدَ مِنْهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever two things were presented before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) would choose the one which was more guided and rightly directed.
