Musnad Ahmad 3692 — Musnad of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى ، وَالتُّقَى ، وَالْعِفَّةَ ، وَالْغِنَى " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to supplicate: «اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعِفَّةَ وَالْغِنَى» "O Allah! I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency (freedom from need before the creation)."
