مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْبَسُوا مِنْ ثِيَابِكُمْ الْبَيَاضَ ، فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ ، وَإِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الْإِثْمِدَ ، يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ ، وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعَرَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wear white clothes, for they are the best of your clothes, and shroud your dead in them. And the best kohl among you is antimony (ithmid), for it sharpens the eyesight and grows the eyelashes."
