Musnad Ahmad 18252 — Hadith of Adi ibn Hatim al-Tai
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَّقِيَ النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ ، فَلْيَفْعَلْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among you can save himself from Hell, even if it be by giving only a piece of date, then he should do so.
