حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي بَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنْ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ضَرَبَ مَثَلًا صِرَاطًا مُسْتَقِيمًا ، عَلَى كَتِفَيْ الصِّرَاطِ سُورَانِ ، فِيهِمَا أَبْوَابٌ مُفَتَّحَةٌ ، وَعَلَى الْأَبْوَابِ سُتُورٌ ، وَدَاعٍ يَدْعُو عَلَى رَأْسِ الصِّرَاطِ ، وَدَاعٍ يَدْعُو مِنْ فَوْقِهِ ، وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى دَارِ السَّلَامِ ، وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ ، فَالْأَبْوَابُ الَّتِي عَلَى كَتِفَيْ الصِّرَاطِ حُدُودُ اللَّهِ ، لَا يَقَعُ أَحَدٌ فِي حُدُودِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَكْشِفَ سِتْرَ اللَّهِ ، وَالَّذِي يَدْعُو مِنْ فَوْقِهِ وَاعِظُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Nawas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah has given an example that there is a straight path, on both sides of which are walls, and in these walls are open doors, with curtains hanging over the doors. At the main gate of the path, a caller is standing and calling out, and another caller is calling from above it. Allah invites to the house of peace and guides whom He wills to the straight path.
