Musnad Ahmad 15675 — Hadith of 'Amir ibn Rabi'ah
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ الْجَنَازَةَ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَاشِيًا مَعَهَا ، فَلْيَقُمْ حَتَّى تُجَاوِزَهُ أَوْ تُوضَعَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see a funeral procession and cannot accompany it, then stand up until it passes by or is placed on the ground.
