(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ جَابِرًا أَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادٍ تَمَنَّى آخَرَ " ؟ ، فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادٍ مِنْ نَخْلٍ تَمَنَّى مِثْلَهُ ، ثُمَّ تَمَنَّى مِثْلَهُ ، حَتَّى يَتَمَنَّى أَوْدِيَةً ، وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was asked whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that if the son of Adam had a valley, he would desire another. He replied: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say, if the son of Adam had a whole valley of date palm trees, he would desire a second, and if he had two, he would desire a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except the dust of the grave.
